So, I just happened to come across some videos on youtube and managed to watch some videos about Naruto (go figure <_<). I found a video that showed how Naruto got his sage powers, and the training thereof. While just watching it, I came across scene where Fukasaku is blown off of Naruto's shoulder, thus revealing the code. I did some research behind the code meaning and found that it meant that Jiraiya said something along the lines of "The real one is not among them". Though that is the given decryption of that particular set of numbers, I recalled that Naruto said during the same episode that the toad was blown off of his shoulder, that "That code on your back, it's a message to me from pervvy sage." That is what piqued my interest, so I did my version of a decryption. I noticed that the numbers posted on his back were: 9.31.8, 106.7, and 207.15. I immediately figured out that 012607(Naruto's Registry number) was in the the code, so I marked those out. After marking those numbers out, I ran through a cast of possible characters that Jiraiya could refer to. I looked up Fukasaku, who didn't have a registry number(durr) but his birth month and day May 9th were given. I then crossed out 5 and 9, and looked up more characters and stumbled across Gamamaru. His birthday is March 8, or 3 and 8, so I crossed those numbers off, and I was left with 7, 1 and 1. I cycled through a possible list of characters that naruto could or might defeat in the story, and none of their birth dates matched, so I thought that there could be an outside reference to the story. Though this isn't a religious discussion, I thought "Hmm Genesis is usually used in a lot of cross references in games/puzzles/riddles, and I just thought I would give it a shot. So I looked up a verse from genesis from 1:17 (again, not a religious discussion, and dont bash me for it) and it says "God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth", which is a reference to the sun or the stars. If you recall the last fight of the Naruto Shippuden series, Naruto has a sun on his hand, while sasuke has a moon shaped crest on his hand. So let me sum it up into a list: Naruto, Gamamaru, Fukasaku, Genesis 1:17. If you do a little thinking about it, Jiraiya wanted to say that, Naruto needs to meet with the great sage toad in order to get his fortune told and train with Fukasaku to become a sage, thus becoming the light on earth. All that Sums up into one thing: Naruto will become the light on earth, or that Naruto will save the earth.
A bit too farfetched, as for me. The code has been deciphered long time ago as "The real one is not among them" through one of the Icha-Icha books, which was a message about Pein's real identily and was meant to help Naruto and Konoha ninja in his defeat. That's all, no need for some streched, tangeled and abstruse theories.
I'm impressed by your work, but I do think it's stretching it far too much.
For starters, Naruto's Ninja ID might be there, but it's all scrambled, so it's not like it's a direct reference, you just found it in there and eliminated it arbitrarily. After all, why not eliminate his Birthday as well? After that, you picked characters close to Jiraiya, but they didn't have IDs, so you eliminated birthdays that time until you were left with 117, which, while I won't deny the number of biblical references one finds in stuff, even in anime (Fate/Zero and Risei's last will come to mind) You then decided on Genesis 1:17 instead of say Genesis chapter 1 verses 1-7 or Genesis 11:7. This not at all including the previously mentioned fact that there isn't a bible in Naruto, the closest things they ever reference in relation to real world religions are some naming conventions to do with Buddhism and Shinto, things not at all uncommon in manga and anime.
Also, the amount of time you spent on it has no relation to how far fetched it is. If anything I'd say the law of inverse proportions would make it more unlikely as you only put in ten minutes of effort into finding this bizarre story in a series of numbers linked randomly to other things. After all, I could say that the moon is actually a secret soviet missile base that's been in orbit since the jurassic era, put there by Russian time travelling spies, and that is extremely far fetched and only took me the time to write it down to come up with. So yeah, I'm sorry, and like I said I admire the theory, but this reeks more of wanting to find something different rather than there actually being something different.
