So in the Boruto movie (and soon manga chapter/s) it's said that Momoshiki wanted to recollect all Earth's chakra to create a new chakra fruit and then make pills from it. What I don't understand, what's the purpose/benefit of the pill form, why not just bite from the chakra fruit?
"Momoshiki also uses this technique to absorb chakra and transform it into chakra pills to grant him immense power and temporary immortality, although he has to keep taking the pills to retain his enhanced abilities and immortality."
^ Which, again, begs the question: what is point of pills, which you have to keep taking to keep the abilities and immortality, wherein with one bite of chakra fruit, you keep them without relying on pills?
May be the power of chakra fruit disappears after some time. After one bite of fruit either the fruit disappears or loses its chakra and the person has to rely on people's chakra through the tree, may be that is why Momoshiki created the pills.
@killman, what makes you say that?
@mecha, nah, nothing suggests that Kaguya's power was declining, besides a part stated in the manga and databook that birth of Hagoromo and Hamura weakened her somewhat.
Momoshiki and Kinshiki apparently harvested the chakra of the God Tree in their world for a very long time, to the point where the planet was completely drained of life. Whereas from what we see on Earth, once the chakra fruit is consumed by somebody the God Tree won't produce another until all of the chakra in the world is reunited into it. So maybe it would be impossible for both Momoshiki and Kinshiki to attain immortality by eating the fruit, since (probably) only one of them can eat it and gain its power. That's the only way it makes any sense to me.
