Inojin is the worst. i already was not much into Sai's jutsu to begin with, but seeing Inojin just makes me hate it more. the guy apparently has enough time to not only draw the beasts, but somehow colour them in various colours, while his opponents more or less stand back and give him his space. the fight was even more pathetic. it is like he only has the beast scroll techniques and not the Yamanaka techniques or sword... lol. he is weak...
Shikadai truly dissapointed me too. no strategy whatsover. and what was all the training and enthusiasm before the exams, he cannot even brach his shadow technique into multiple shadows.
BTW. DID THEY DECIDE TO DO AWAY WITH HOW THE NARA JUTSU MAKES THEIR OPPONENT TRAPPED IN THEIR JUTSU NOT DO WHAT THEY DO?
dont even want to comment about Boruto.... it was in the movie and i knew i was going to hate it.
the Uchiha favoritism continues. at least let Sarada's opponent do something. jeez.
Mitsuki actually sucked for once to me. he actually almost went Sage Mode or whatever kind of Sage Mode copy it is for a weakass opponent as his.
SO Shikadai and Yodo are clearly being set up to be the next Shikamaru and Temari. no originality with the series. just copy and paste from the old one.
OH. ALSO. SOMEHOW ONLY NARUTO LOOKS LIKE HE SEES SOMETHING WRONG WITH BORUTO'S SHURIKEN TRAJECTORY. HE DOESNT LOOK IMPRESSED IN THAT SCENE AND IS SEEN CONTEMPLATING SOMETHING. EVERYONE ELSE HAS SOMEHOW BECOME INCOMPOTENT THESE DAYS.
i am actually surprised to say this, but i am looking forward to Chocho fight. the big girl seems like she is going to put a hell of fight against Shinki unlike other weakass Konoha new generation.
I totally agree. The parts I hated the most are Sarada and Boruto. As you say, Uchiha favoritism still continues. Not just Uchiha, but Sakura favoritism too, hence Sarada only used a punch with a "shannaro!" again. And just 3 seconds, did she even receive these kinds of training from anyone else? (Except Konohamaru) Just because she has special eyes, she is Sasuke's and Sakura's child and being an Uchiha doesn't mean she is so awesome, so powerful. Not only that, it seems she used raw strength for that punch. But remind it that Sakura not uses raw strength, but uses chakra for those punches. So it must be impossible to transfer that raw strength through genetics.
As for Boruto part, which I hated the most out of two and all. He's Naruto and Hinata's child, one being the Hokage, jinchuuriki of Kurama, senjutsu master and the most powerful ninja of the world, the other is a Hyuga, a master in clan techniques. Why none of his parents taught ANYTHING about techniques or fights, or even a single technique? It seems Sarada was also not taught by her parents, but while she just uses a punch in 3 seconds and wins, Boruto troubles to do even a single jutsu, always considers and DOES cheating with that weapon. I see an Uchiha favoritism again in this part, Boruto must not be that below of Sarada's level. It's like Sarada is Part 1's Naruto and Boruto is Part 1's Sakura.
Let's put aside parent-child relations. Sarada gets genetic powers of her parents (I don't think Sakura has genetic power but let's say those punches) but why Boruto not gets anything from his parents, other than kage bunshin, which is not a genetic jutsu? Again, it's like Sarada is Part 1's Naruto and Boruto is Part 1's Sakura. From this sentence, I conclude that there is not only an Uchiha favoritism, but there is also a Team 7 favoritism again. In Naruto and Shippuden series, this thing was one of the things I hated, because during the story, it's like the world is about Team 7 for Naruto, he has friends other than his team but always says I'm alone and goes behind his team only, Team 7 this and Team 7 that. I know it was about friendship, but the atal point is that associating friendship with only the team thing. I don't want to see things like this in Boruto too, but it seems I will see them again.
And finally, I really hated that Boruto was cheating. I get that he tries to impress everyone, especially his father. But he should have considered that cheating is against the rules, and that by doing so and winning unjustly, not only he degrades himself, but also he steals the rights of other participants, they are just using whatever they have JUSTLY. In Part 1, Naruto was not able to get help for training, except Jiraiya and Kakashi, but still fought and won justly, he didn't have stronger friends except Sasuke. But Boruto has a Hokage father, a Hyug martial master mother, he has many friends, even brilliant scientist Katasuke, even a Kage friend, Chojuro. We know Naruto couldn't get much help even he wanted to, but Boruto IS able to get LOTS of help if he WANTS to.
Naruto was hated put upon on by nearly whole village, he was a loser but he becomes a legend in the end. But Boruto has no reason to be a loser like his father in his youth. I hated both the storyline and the producers. I'm looking forward to see Shinki, hope his fight won't disappoint me.
By the way, if they are going to rush things, at least after the chuunin exams, they just put the movie to watch, so that we won't wait for weeks to see the arc's end, and we already know what will happen. They already lost my positive side.

The next episode preview of Boruto vs. Shikadai was literally ripped from the movie, so I doubt that took any effort.
Literally the last time this show had any good animation was Sakura vs. Shin, which was a long, long, long time ago.
I'm honestly confused as to why many other shows (Bleach, Akatsuki no Yona, etc) Studio Peirrot animates has consistently non-cringe worthy animation. The Naruto series for some reason has the worse animation out of almost everything SP does lmao, and Naruto is a huge franchise.
agreed
The funny thing is, that Boruto would have won easily without cheating, it just feels odd that he feels that he needs to use a cheating device, since he proved to be quite capable im the past and fought tougher foes and won. I mean, until now, it's been nothing but Boruto wanking... 'HE IS A PRODIGY, HE IS AT LEAST CHUNIN LEVEL' etc. but suddenly he can't do a thing without a cheating device.
I mean come on:
He barely tried to use his arsenal without resorting to cheating ._. I feel it's quite badly explained... perhaps he lost confidence in himself?
@Elveonora Probably the fact that he really wanted to showcase in front of Naruto and not lose in front of him made him take the easy way out.
He lost confidence and at all costs wanted to win.. that is why he cheated. He could have easily beaten most all of them there, only Sarada, Mitsuki, and Shinki would have given him a real fight.. and only Mitsuki can really beat him. I don't know if Shinki can.

Regarding Boruto and Sarada's techniques, remember that Sarada's father was not here to teach him anything, and the punch is probably the same as Sakura's imbued punch. Boruto's father was too busy to train him and Hinata's technique rely on Byakugan to be performed. Naruto doesn't have byakugan so she can't teach him but I suppose she taught Himawara.
I agree with most of the rest, especially the MC centric narrative.
+ I m quite happy they redo the movie since I didn't watch it :p

By techniques or jutsus, I didn't just mean some specific tehcniques. I said at least basic ones, I mean at least some taijutsu, like a few moves from karate. His taijutsu is also worse in my opinion, I know he's just a 13 y.o. guy, but his moves seem so... Randomly, no plans, just impromptu with kage bunshins. Please don't get me wrong if it sounds rude, I just clarified my mistake, I didn't get mad or yell at you. I really appreciate that you are agreeing with most part.
Btw, what does MC means?
@FearDoctor @Skylent, you guys probably should stop quoting the whole post along with double posting it. People kind of get annoyed by that, and there's some rule for that.
And MC means Main Character I think.

We have actually seen this, many times before. Whenever something new comes into play the old are purely dismissed. Gaara using his shukaku powers, Sasuke with his katons and susanoo, Naruto and every single move that isn't rasengan and basic cloning, kakashi and his 1k jutsu, etc.
Elveonora wrote: He barely tried to use his arsenal without resorting to cheating ._. I feel it's quite badly explained... perhaps he lost confidence in himself?
That's the point. He lost confidence in himself. He wavered for a moment in the first round, and started doubting his own power. In the second round, he could've won on his own but he got cocky and his to-go tactic of shadowclones suddenly was useless. In a spur-of-the-moment decision, he chose the Kote over himself. In the third round, he starts relying on the Kote even when he objectively doesn't need it, as shown clearly with the Shuriken.
