We've all seen the first minute of the first episode in Boruto. The person fighting boruto says something along the lines of "I'll send you to the same place I sent your father". For me that wouldn't necessarily mean death, maybe a prison type genjutsu or a different dimension he can't escape? Any thoughts?
Well 'the same place' is mostly interpreted as a different dimension where Naruto could be captured or transported to. Since Naruto can't jump dimensions he could be captured or stuck there. But then again if that done, then Sasuke can easily rescue Naruto. If Sasuke is killed and then Naruto is captured, then that could be a possibility. The reason people don't want to believe that Naruto or Sasuke could be dead is because they are very powerful and almost unmatched in strength. BUT if the plot requires it then Naruto can die, even if he is very powerful his death could be the next plot twist or cause a important change in Boruto's life ,there were many important deaths in Naruto like jiraiya and itachi to advance the plot
Yeah, but this would be Naruto's death we're talking about. He's the main character of the whole franchise, it wouldn't be a normal death, even for a famous and loved character like Itachi or Jiraiya because they weren't the main character

I'm suspicious of the phrasing in the opening, which is why i suspect he may not be killed. But I do think Naruto has to die for the good of the franchise, he's too powerful to ever many any story interesting.
I don't think Narutowill die, because they wouldnt spoil something that big. They are trying to confuse us I think, and the issue is: there really is no possible way Naruto can die without it being lame. He is too powerful. And Boruto cannot surpass him in 2 or 3 years where the Kawaki fight is. So Naruto really cant die unless they bring in a bad guy more OP than Naruto...
