  • I have found proof of the existence of chakra before the Infinite Tsukuyomi, and proof against Itachi's Tsukuyomi working on everybody including non chakra users as well. https://qr.ae/pNK4hD Link to my quora answer where I have answered the question "Does Genjutsu (Naruto) only work on those that have chakra, if so than those without chakra are immune to Genjutsu?"

    • Casting genjutsu involved forcing ones own chakra into the target to take control of their chakra to manipulate their senses.

Its possible that the act of casting genjutsu on someone who doesnt ha e chakra gives that person chakra, similar to how Hagoromo gave people the ability to mold chakra, except forced by a genjutsu user

I can agree and respect that, but with Jiraiya's previous statement
      File:Jiraiya Genjutsu.jpeg
and the fact that it hasn't been retconned or changed throughout the show, doesn't that add on to the consistency of the mechanics of genjutsu?

Hagoromo taught them how to mold it. Some instances that they he gave them chakra (I can believe both of those). But in the instance in the anime exclusive where people that got their nutrients from the God Tree, then the girl that Hagoromo knew became a victim of the Infinite Tsukuyomi (anime only, I don't know if it's canon or not though), then it still supports my belief that the God Tree's nutrients gave chakra long before Hagoromo. Not impossible to believe though, since Madara's knowledge of the past was stated to be forged, so the full history of the time of Kaguya is still unknown to a degree.

That isnt inconsistant with the explanation i proposed

According to the Shueisha timeline, chapters 1-700 are the canon version of the events, any anime deviations are not canon. And Hagoromo didnt just teach them to mold chakra. He literally gave them the ability to create it

Madara and Hagoromo's retelling of how humans got chakra are consistant

Oh okay, thank you for clarifying. I have nothing else
