Tobi (Zetsu)

The "Tobi" Android is an unnamed Zetsu Clone and subordinate of Madara Uchiha and was one of Obito's bodyguards alongside White Zetsu.

Background

The "Tobi" Android, as well as the White Zetsu Army clones, were created using the cells of Hashirama Senju and plants as a medium through the Gedo Mazo. It was created by Madara Uchiha long before he met Obito, to serve as minions and spies to gather information. He met and befriended Obito shortly after the latter was saved by Madara. The Android Zetsu resembled Obito's future goofy Tobi persona. He along with White Zetsu enjoyed annoying and teasing Obito about things such as what he murmured in his sleep. Over time, the duo became friends with the young Uchiha. Months into Obito's rehabilitation, White Zetsu urgently told Obito that Kakashi and Rin (whose names Obito would constantly murmur while asleep) were outside and were being attacked by Hidden Mist shinobi. Resolved to save his friends, Obito tried to break a wall to get outside, but destroyed his artificial arm. Seeing how desperate Obito was, the "Tobi" android attached himself to the former to replace his limb. Although Obito was skeptical about whether they had permission to help, White Zetsu said that Madara would allow them to do this.

Personality

When first meeting Obito, the Android Zetsu was playful and enjoyed teasing him about things, acting much like the goofy persona Obito would later take up. Although Obito was initially hostile towards him, the two befriended each other during the former's rehabilitation.

He believes that the Eye of the Moon Plan is good for mankind. He also believes that Madara is a good guy at heart, as shown when he and White Zetsu decide to help Obito without Madara's permission.

Appearance

The Android Zetsu is easily distinguished by the swirl-pattern of his face that only shows his right eye, resembling the mask Obito would go on to use. This Zetsu lacks the Venus fly trap-like extensions of Black & White Zetsu. Though it has a swirl pattern running from his head down to his waist. These swirls are shown to be able to open in a similar manner to the fly-trap extensions. It's body overall is the most unique body produced out of any other Zetsu Clone. The Zetsu shows no visible orifices at all.
