Tora (トラ) is the cat owned by Madam Shijimi, the wife of the Fire Daimyō.

Personality

Despite (in fact, because of) the huge amount of affection Madam Shijimi shows to her, which includes nearly squeezing the life out of the cat, Tora constantly tries to run away.

Appearance

Tora is recognised both times by the red ribbon on her right ear. She has brown fur, with a line running down her forehead with two lines (three in the anime) going across it, and amber-coloured eyes.

Part I

Prologue — Land of Waves

Team Kakashi was to be sent to find her after she ran away from home. When they found Tora, Naruto and Sasuke jumped and grabbed the cat. They then returned Tora to her owner, much to the cat's anguish.

Part II

Kazekage Rescue Mission

In the anime, Team Ebisu was tasked with the job of capturing and returning Tora to her owner seven times, each time taking longer than the last as Tora gets better at hiding.

Trivia

  • "Tora" () means "tiger".
  • In episode 6 of the original Naruto series, Tora has a line running down her forehead with three lines (two in the manga) going across it, but in Naruto: Shippūden, she has lighter coloured markings on her head instead.
