Kanashimi Wo Yasashisa Ni (悲しみをやさしさに, literally meaning: Sadness into Kindness), performed by Little by Little, was the third opening for the Japanese version of Part I of the Naruto series replacing Far Away. It was not used in the english dub and instead, was replaced by GO!!!. It was used from episodes 54 to 77.

Opening Sypnosis
Naruto is on the ground in some area and gazing at the sky. He arises and runs off with his teammates and the logo is shown. A young Naruto is in a dark area in Konoha alone, ostracized by other citizens, before a young Gaara is seen in Sunagakure, also being ostrasized. A young Neji with his father and Hinata are shown, and then a young Sakura in her academy years with Ino. The young Naruto begins to run somewhere and then the older version is shown running and jumping off a cliff and landing with an army of shadow clones by him, running with them, Sakura, and Sasuke. The students of Team 8, Team 10, Team Guy and Team 7 are shown with their sensei. The Third Hokage is shown with his students looking at the Hokage Monument, and the young Jiraiya turns into his present self. Naruto arises from a lake and is then shown running at night with the entire Team 7.
