Greetings and welcome to Narutopedia. We do hope that you will stay for a long time. Enjoy your stay as we work to become the best Naruto info site out there. BELIVE IT! -The Greeting Team

Actualy, a name order hasen't been decided yet, the discussion is still going on at Forum:Names. Dantman (Talk) 07:19, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

What's with the fake infobox page? Dantman (Talk) 01:30, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

That's just the format of how to write one into a page. But don't worry about infoboxes, I'm working on a new infobox system on the animepedia and when the infoboxes are complete a bot is going to copy them over here just like with a number of other templates that are on here. But for now, why not entertain yourself with Userboxes. Dantman (Talk) 01:51, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Actualy, Fourth Hokage shouldn't be changed to Hokage, and Sauske should stay as sauske to. Once the Forum:Names discussion has been completed I will be building a bot which will keep name standards. One of the things it does is make sure that all 3 forms of the romanized name, the japanese name, the english name, and all the nicknames that the character goes by have a redirect to, or are the article about the character. Sauske will link to the article about sauske, and as for Fourth Hokage, the Fourth Hokage is an individual character, an article will be created about him. As for Kyubi, forms such as Nine-Tailed Demon fox will also all link to the correct article. So it's best not to change things like that. The only time where a link should point to something different than it's text is when you are doing something like saying a summoning tecnique in the context of the article and using the pipe(|) to make that link to the article about the Jutsu (All Jutsu will have their own articles in the future to. Dantman (Talk) 03:31, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

I should introduce you to the translation template. It's similar to wikipedia's Nihongo template, but it has some different syntax and extra uses. The use of it is multiple forms of a word. The first 3 parameters are English Word, Japanese word, and then Romanized Japanese word. I even have it inside of the editbox. Oh, btw. Hyuuga is actualy Hyūga but the ū is converted to it's longer form. It's basicly romanized without the accents. But what your doing is fine, though, don't work to hard on little things like that. I could have things like that done in a short time without any noticeable things showing up in the recent changes, or any user interaction. Dantman (Talk) 05:05, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Greeting Team

I'd just like to say...woah. When I first started going around and doing the greeting team thing I never knew that others would pick it up. I've relized that I've been kinda selfish about this wiki considering that back in the old days I was the main (if not only) contributer. I'm now starting to relize that I can't be so controlling. After all, I'm NOT the admin and I'm no longer the top contributer....I think that YOU have that spot now. I now that this may sound weird after I beat my self up...but I'm really glad that even when I'm away that this wiki can still stand on its own and that the Recent Changes page will ALWAYS have RECENT changes on it. Nope, you still have a few more edits LoneWolf 5. You're still in the rankings. Greeting Team, eh. Maybe I'll build you guys a greeting template sometime. Dantman (Talk) 05:17, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Really? You don't think that the whole Greeting Team thing isn't overly sappy and might stop people from actually coming? LoneWolf 5 17:39, 1 March 2007 (UTC)LoneWolf 5
Nah, wikipedia does it a little bit. Dantman (Talk) 21:54, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey, can I replace that subst'ed userbox copied from wikipedia with the naruto ranks userbox created for the Wikia Anime Project. It's got a little different wording, but that wording is what makes it so that people don't confuse user's having fun with userboxes, with those using it to represent actual status tags. Dantman (Talk) 05:10, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Rules Page

The Rules page actualy spans multiple pages. I've got some Policy pages done, but I'm also still thinking on how to do this with multiple projects. I'll get to it soon enough. Dantman (Talk) 23:26, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

2 Things

Random, you should read How to copy from Wikipedia. You're getting better but there are still some importatnt things missing. Also, as I stated on Talk:Jutsus and the comment at the top of all the pages. Don't edit List of Ninjutsu, List of Taijutsu, or List of Genjutsu anymore. Your edits will be overridden. Read Talk:Jutsus for more information and links to the pages with listing you actualy need to edit. Dantman (Talk) 01:13, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Random, just for you to know. The text after the | is what is used to sort the page in the category. When you use a - inside of that area it sorts the page under the - sectio instead of the normal secion (EG: C for Chidori). The - is used on List pages to group them in a starting section of a certain category. And a space is used for sorting a page into the main area of a category it is important to. (e.g. Jutsu is sorted with a space into Category:Jutsu so that it shows up at the beginning.) So adding messes up sorting, should be used instead. That asside. It's a better idea to categorize Ninjutsu into Ninjtsu and not Jutsu, and same for Genjutsu, Taijutsu, and Kekkei Genkai. If we sort all 4 types into the Jutsu category it's going to get way to big. If we think it's usefull in the future I can use a bot to add them from the other categories to that one. So for now just use , , , and to categorize different jutsu. Dantman (Talk) 07:02, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Didn't the "Please do not edit this page, please edit the page at the Animepedia instead." statement have an effect? You can't edit the userboxes here, you half to edit them at the Animepedia so that the changes go across all the wiki in the project. If you don't then the changes you made will be lost. Looks like you're starting to get the hang of some of the MediaWiki wikitext. Here's a little tip now. There are 2 special tags. noinclude and includeonly. Anything between two noinclude tags will only display when you're viewing the page. When you include the page with something like that text won't show (same goes for category links. If you use noinclude then things that include the page won't share those categories just because of an include. Working in the opposite, text between two includeonly tags will not display normally. But it will show up when you include the page into another page. If you're wondering the use of this. Remember the lists we've been including into larger pages. We can use noinclude tags to make it so that the page content that is not the list itself doesn't get put into the pages that include the list. Doing the same around the category tags also stops the including pages from inheriting categories they shouldn't. ~Dantman(talk) 07:35, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Userboxes would work *Nods*... Though if you do create a page like that it'll half to be in the Project(Narutopedia) Namespace, not the Main one. ~Dantman(talk) current discussion Mar 24, 2007 @ 01:24 (UTC)

Neh, do you need help with figuring out how to archive your talkpage? ~Dantman(talk) current discussion Apr 7, 2007 @ 01:31 (UTC)

Sure, i don't really get how to do it Random123 01:53, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Ok, do you want a copy-paste or move type of archive? With the Copy-Paste type you can just pull sections out and archive them. And with the move type you can preserve the history. The normal type is copy-paste, though I use the move because my special talkhead inclusion doubles as a notification that something is an archive. ~Dantman(talk) current discussion Apr 7, 2007 @ 03:20 (UTC)
