I'm working on two original techniques for Hinata, and I was hoping you'd provide me with the correct translation of how they should sound, if its not too much trouble. The first attack is Eight Trigrams Sixty Four Lion Fists, and the second is Gentle Step Twin Lion Spiraling Spheres. I'd really appreciate it See since you're so awesome!--SuperSaiyaMan (talk) 19:28, April 9, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks...whenever I try to put them down on my own I don't have a good flow...don't speak Japanese after all. And Google Translate can only go so far when making attack names that sound organic to the Naruto series. Thank you for this, much appreciated See! I'll link you to the chapter when its done!--SuperSaiyaMan (talk) 19:39, April 9, 2015 (UTC)

Why did you move it? I don't have access to my databook scans at the moment, but even the Japanese wikipedia lists him as Ningame. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 19:47, April 11, 2015 (UTC)

Well, I don't have databook, so I can't check it, but in ShounenSuki's character profiles from databooks while of course the tortoise's name is in kanji, kana reading is にんがめ, but official romanisation is NINKAME.--LeafShinobi (talk) 21:03, April 12, 2015 (UTC)
Just saw your answer to Omnibender and the scan. It may be a little blurry, but I'm still pretty sure it's が, especially in the text just left from the manga panel.--LeafShinobi (talk) 21:10, April 12, 2015 (UTC)
Background romanization aren't always a good source. They've always listed Chouji and Chouza (though I believe that maybe be due to different romanization process), but they've also used Ootutuki for Kaguya, Hagoromo and Hamura. And my personal favourite, Jyuugo. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 00:12, April 13, 2015 (UTC)

Hey. Since you recently blocked Kunoichi101 about her edit practices, I'd like to request you to keep an eye on every edit she makes. I (and probably many on this wiki) have really had enough of her inability to listen to other editors. So if she continues to make unimportant edits or makes many edits in a row without using preview, please step in. I have messaged a few other sysops about this issue, so they'll also be watching. Thank you. --Sajuuk [Mod] talk | contribs | Channel 20:14, April 13, 2015 (UTC)

It only took 30 seconds for Kunoichi101 to basically disregard my entire warning. So you are perfectly free to go ahead and infinite block the user. I have had enough and this wiki has probably had enough patience for her. She doesn't contribute and even admitted she has no clue how to contribute here. So yeah, infinite block. --Sajuuk [Mod] talk | contribs | Channel 21:38, April 13, 2015 (UTC)

Black Zetsu Trivia

From some Talk pages Talk:The Current Me, Talk:Two Mangekyō, you said that Obito absorbed Senjutsu and made his Shakujo and User:JOA20 also thinks it was Black Zetsu retiring see Talk:Black_Zetsu#possible_addition. So why is it not true?--Mecha Naruto (talk) 18:31, April 20, 2015 (UTC)

Oh I see, it could be possible but it was not confirmed and there are two possibilities now so that is why you don't want that point in trivia section, but this goes against what you and others have said earlier (in the talk pages) that Obito absorbed Senjutsu chakra from Madara to form his own staff and that is what I added eliminating the other possibility, and this is reasonable because Obito can use it to create Truth Seeking Ball like maellable chakra and transform it into Shakujo as he has demonstrated when he was TT Jinchuriki and this is more likely because you can see that it came from a hole in his hand and was transformed into Shakujo and there was no reason why Black Zetsu acted like that, Black Zetsu's part just moved away from that spot a mystery (like water spreading away from soap because of surface tension or some force). I'm not adding my own interpretation just making the article complete, a reference chapter 665 page 16 was added to it. P.S. sorry for this wall of text.--Mecha Naruto (talk) 19:29, April 20, 2015 (UTC)
Understandable because they are always on stand by and are only formed when the person transforms into Jinchuriki. So now here Obito is actually making the Shakujo with an already available malleable chakra but it doesn't seem that way because if it was then we should be able to see Black Zetsu's part transforming and the black mass (malleable chakra) was not connected to Black Zetsu (or was he microscopically?) and why was there a hole in his hand? so anyway not adding that point, too much speculation.--Mecha Naruto (talk) 19:59, April 20, 2015 (UTC)

Hello. As of right now, I am currently having a discussion about a technique, and I need to know the kanji for the name of said technique. Loads of jutsu

So, there are these pages that have many names of jutsu, and descriptions. I've usually used them to confirm kanji I found in other sites. There's one page for game jutsu, and one for everything else. I've seen errors in them before, so they're not 100% reliable. I usually can tell by comparing to the general naming conventions of jutsu. Something that caught me eye in the everything else, is that they have some jutsu that I don't recall ever seeing before. Closer inspection appears to indicate that they're from the novelization version of things such as OVAs and movies. Googling them reveals that other random looking Japanese sites also have them. Dunno if there's anything useful in the game link, but could you check on them sometimes to see if there's anything we might add? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 01:07, May 6, 2015 (UTC)

I managed to find the official names for some UNSR jutsu. In the page about the Third Raikage, there's 斬獄手刀. From the jutsu we have, I believe this to be Hell Chop, but I have no idea how the first two kanji should be translated. I believe the two last can be translated as chop though, and I have no idea how the rōmaji for the entire thing should read, since 手刀 can be read two ways, and I have no idea how 斬獄 should be. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 18:38, May 19, 2015 (UTC)
So, Tangorin says that the "hand sword" part is more like a gesture. Would "chop" still be a somewhat valid translation for the motion described by these kanji? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 21:22, May 19, 2015 (UTC)

Sasuke Uchiha's Trivia

Dude no need to start threatening me by saying "don't add it again", I know you're an admin and I already said I was not trying to get into an edit war because it's a waste of time, and even if you're an admin things could still go to debate without resorting to threatening because I have a different view than you have. I simply put it there because it was trivia, Sasuke having a cell phone, but prefers to stay old school by sending his hawk for communication during missions. No one else prior to the the second chapter of Naruto Gaiden had cell phones and then it was revealed that Sasuke has one which is trivia in itself. Trivia is trivia. What are noteworthy trivia and who decides this because every person is different which different views on what's trivia or not? There's a lot of other trivia on different pages that could be seen as not noteworthy yet they're still in trivia on those said pages. So, like I said before I'm not looking for any conflicts. --AllstarUchiha (talk) 19:33, May 10, 2015 (UTC)

An admin saying "do not add again" is a threat because that means if I re-edited back then measures would be taken against me. Sarada wearing glasses is going way off point to my edit, the trivia I added applies to Sasuke's character, who he is. You can't say that no one would found that trivia interesting when you can't speak for all fans of Naruto. Not to mention, there's also new fans of Naruto that at the moment don't know as much. You said it's not special yet I saw a lot of other fans talking about that subject on other the Viz Media threads for Naruto and on other Naruto sites. All I was saying was I see tons of other pages with what you would call "not noteworthy" yet those are still there so I don't see why mines was taken away for a reason that the others weren't. --AllstarUchiha (talk) 20:03, May 10, 2015 (UTC)
Considering Seelentau reverted your edit a few times, he was quite within his right tell you not to add it again. He is the wiki's translator and most of our experienced editors here know what they're doing. Your edit was indeed junk trivia since that isn't what trivia sections are for.
I invite you to read the Revert policy, since it's clear that edit warring can result in a block. --Sajuuk [Mod] talk | contribs | Channel 20:05, May 10, 2015 (UTC)

No I only editing back once, so I wasn't doing this a few times. I was not editing warring since once again I only edited back once and haven't edited back since, I didn't go back and forth. So what? I can't have a discussion with the admin because our opinions differ. How is that solving anything. --AllstarUchiha (talk) 20:12, May 10, 2015 (UTC)

@Seelentau I agree with the other option that you brought up, that it may not be right for trivia, but it could be worded differently on his page. I was never looking for many conflicts, I just didn't the see the reason why it was taken away, but glad it's over with. --AllstarUchiha (talk) 20:29, May 10, 2015 (UTC)

Hey, Tau! Recently, I started a wiki that is in bad need of a translator. Now I know what you're thinking: no, I'm not asking you to migrate! Haha I remember you saying something about having been a self-taught translator and I wanted to ask you about that. See, I'm not looking to get fluent. Learning German (my family is from Germany) was hard enough, but I was wondering if you could give me some pointers on how I can learn just enough Japanese to get by with helping my wiki for translations. Any pointers you can give? ~ Ten Tailed Fox Rinnegan Sasuke.svg 04:42, May 14, 2015 (UTC)

Those would definitely be good places to start. Thanks! Yeah, definitely not in my teens anymore. I'm 22 and just learning German in my teens (since my parents didn't think teaching me when I was young was, uh, important) was enough to make me want to pull out most of my hair. Hahaha Thanks for the tips, though! ~ Ten Tailed Fox Rinnegan Sasuke.svg 16:23, May 14, 2015 (UTC)
Hey! I really appreciate that! I've been improving a lot. I'm getting better at reading words and small phrases and I've got a really good app on my phone that is steadily teaching me grammar. Some stuff is confusing, but luckily I don't need to be fluent to do most of the translations the wiki needs. I did order three of the major databooks for Dragon Ball so that we'd have them for the wiki, and they're only in Japanese, so hopefully I'm able to at least decipher the names that I need hahaha ~ Ten Tailed Fox Rinnegan Sasuke.svg 16:58, June 5, 2015 (UTC)

Spear kanji

It's my understanding there are three basic kanji for spear. Is the one used in the wiki the most common one? I recently went through Rasa's jutsu, and he has three game jutsu with spear on the name. I didn't add the kanji at first, because I don't know how prevalent each spear kanji is. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 19:56, May 16, 2015 (UTC)

Well, according to tangorin there are three yari/spear kanji. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:12, May 16, 2015 (UTC)

Hey Tau!

Question for you. So, my co-editor and I are working on the pages for the Cyborgs on our Dragon Ball wiki, but we've come to a spat as to how to translate "Jinzōningen" (人造人間). Literally, I know it is "artificial human", but most media translates it as "Android". He wants to translate it as "Cyborg". Technically they all mean the same thing, but how would you translate that? ~ Ten Tailed Fox Rinnegan Sasuke.svg 18:25, May 18, 2015 (UTC)

Shenlong vs Shenron

Sorry to bother you again Tau. Your pointers have been invaluable, but I've got a final question for you. Shenron vs Shenlong. 神龍 (シェンロン) Kanji says Shenlong or "dragon god", but the furigana says Shenron. The matter confuses me because the Viz manga uses Shenlong, the anime (both Japanese and English) clearly states Shenron, but most people accept "Shenlong" as the official name. Thoughts? ~ Ten Tailed Fox Rinnegan Sasuke.svg 06:20, May 22, 2015 (UTC)

Yahiko Age

According to your new timeline, Yahiko died between ages 25-30, but according to the databook he died at age 15. Age 15 seems kind of weird, and the wiki page even says age 15. Wouldn't that be impossible? He would be like three during his training with Jiraiya if that were the case. I'm not sure if its a mistranslation or what, because he definitely couldn't have been fifteen when he died.

Were there any other glaring inconsistencies when you did the timeline? If there were, it'd be interesting to know. --Bullet Francisco (talk) 10:49, May 24, 2015 (UTC)

Etymology - Possible name meanings?

Hi Seelentau :)

I just wanted to say that I agree with you that we should not just post ungrounded guesses at what Kishimoto is trying to convey with his names for the characters on their pages, unless of course we are provided with the kanji for the name. However, sometimes there are names that only have one clear meaning and even though we do not have the kanji, would it be reasonable to put in the etymology of the name in the trivia section with its specific kanji?? Like it was done on Iruka Umino or Ibiki Morino's pages??

Also, on the subject of guesses at different name meanings and kanji being posted on the character pages, there are still some pages that display this - such as Rin Nohara, Fū and Tenten's pages. Are you suggesting that those should be deleted? While we are at it, we might as well be consistent :)

Block settings

Seelentau, when blocking please stick to the blocking policy. Infinite blocks shouldn't be used the first time a user vandalizes the wiki. And talkpage revocation should only be used after a user has already abused the ability to edit their talkpage while blocked. ~ Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (Local TalkAnimanga Talk) 11:10, June 11, 2015 (UTC)

Is there any reason why this user has been blocked? They made a bad edit, sure, but it didn't warrant a block (see blocking policy: don't block for one bad edit), especially as Windy posted to their talkpage directing them to the fanon wiki. That was all that was necessary, block was a bit over-excessive. --Sajuuk [Mod] 13:10, June 22, 2015 (UTC)

Speaking of which, Seel-san, since you locked Sasuke's and Karin's page, mind if I ask a favor? Sasuke's paragraph for today's chapter needs to be changed into UK English. It's a minor thing to ask for, but it's bugging me since we need to follow the policy, right? Also, on Karin, I want to remove this line: "Later Karin developed mutual feelings with Sasuke Uchiha that they had a daughter together — Sarada Uchiha."

Not to sound crude here, but last I checked, having a child together doesn't mean that mutual feelings were necessarily involved, if you catch my meaning. We don't know what happened with them, and since Kishi-sensei is a prankster who likes to tease his fans... Well, yeah. I know we update the pages in accordance to the information gathered from the chapter and if new info appears, we update that and all that jazz, but being realistic here, together people can make a child without romantic feelings are involved (well, in the real world).--NinjaSheik 20:31, June 11, 2015 (UTC)

Gutsy Shinobi

I think Google tends to be more competent with translating German than it is with Japanese. However, translating's already your thing for one language, why rob you of the opportunity to translate another?

Could you translate whatever useful information is available here and add it here? Using Japanese to German to English translations isn't the ideal option, but we lack better alternatives. ~SnapperTo 17:10, June 18, 2015 (UTC)

(I Googled "Naruto Musasabi" and that was one of two websites I came across that wasn't a mirror of some other website.)
I'm personally confused about what to do with the book. Just from the standpoint of what to title the article, how do you disambiguate it enough to clearly distinguish it from the animanga version, seeing as both are books? And the book, despite actually existing, is 99% in-universe, in which case it seems like it should go with the in-universe article, otherwise there's two articles on the same thing, kind of sort of. I don't know. ~SnapperTo 17:27, June 18, 2015 (UTC)

re: stealth

It appears to simply be the translation the wiki's been using since it was released. Wikipedia uses "Naruto Volume 忍: Road to Ninja".

Are you aware of any scans for that volume? My own searches haven't found anything. ~SnapperTo 16:34, June 19, 2015 (UTC)

I managed to get the kanji for the jutsu from the new scan showing Eight Gates Guy. Could you make sense of the literal translation please? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 16:35, June 19, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks. Similarly, from those scans, we also got the name of Madara's ougi. It's 天涯流星 (Tengai Ryūsei). I know the two words can be easily translated, but is there some sort of cultural piece of background information that would influence the translation? For now I see it as Horizon Meteor. I have no intention of having the article created at the moment, since we don't actually know what it does. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 00:11, June 20, 2015 (UTC)

Yeap. Only 3 were named >.> I'm so sick of this many unnamed techniques to be honest... Not sure if even creating them was the correct choice, but hey, more things for Elveonora to argue about :) And thanks for the names, I'll add them--Omojuze (talk) 10:29, June 24, 2015 (UTC)

In translations she does... >.> Figures.--Omojuze (talk) 10:48, June 24, 2015 (UTC)
Quote: "The elder brother used lava release to expand a ring of fire". Yup. I know, it's so confusing... And so laamee xD--Omojuze (talk) 11:28, June 24, 2015 (UTC)
Yup. Sharingan >.< Orochimaru performed experiments in suna a while after killing Rasa and disguised as him. >.>
In case you're interested. Though I'm pretty sure you could've found it yourself :)--Omojuze (talk) 12:32, June 29, 2015 (UTC)
Pretty much: "{Shigezane} was known as a man who used a unique ninjutsu to take out metal crystals from the earth below, a pro in mineral mining and fort destruction. Similar to the magnet release, the technique also allowed the user to take out gold dust from the ground. It had been taught to Shigezane by Gaara’s father." Well, since Gaara used Gold Dust without Magnet Release, it's not unreasonable.--Omojuze (talk) 13:26, June 29, 2015 (UTC)
Hm.. wasn't aware that it was the name of the technique, I thought that it was more of a title "master of Metal Mining". But yeah, it's probably a technique, thanks :)--Omojuze (talk) 13:32, June 29, 2015 (UTC)
Fanfiction, well put indeed. Well the technique wasn't used yet, the character only used a water technique and a quicksand-esque technique, with neither involving Gold Dust.--Omojuze (talk) 13:38, June 29, 2015 (UTC)

Looking for your opinion on this proposal. Thanks :) --Sajuuk [Mod] 18:43, June 25, 2015 (UTC)

A lot of articles here have various links in their description despite having those same links in their infoboxes (e.g. Chidori, Rasenshuriken, etc...). Also, many readers don't think to look at the inboxes first and instead read the descriptions. (I'm just really confused. I thought links were okay to add as long as it's only done when in its first appearance on an article description-wise.) Can I suggest putting in links in descriptions despite the infoboxes? Like I've already mentioned, several articles already disregard the rule. --Freedom Wall (talk) 12:48, June 26, 2015 (UTC)

Freedom Wall is actually right. And Dantman also said that it doesn't really matter, because there's not a policy on having links in the page, even if they're in the infobox. Just thought I should point it out. --Sajuuk [Mod] 12:50, June 26, 2015 (UTC)
Alright then, no more reverts on that side. :) • Seelentau 愛 12:56, June 26, 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, guys! :) --Freedom Wall (talk) 12:57, June 27, 2015 (UTC)

re: Despite

Thank you for the comments. Let it be known that whatever I have said about you, I have never considered you a bad editor and have always considered you to be a good influence on the wiki, due to the lack of translators.

I know that I have said some things in the past that I should really not have said (such as the incident with Suzaku) and I admit that my attitude towards Suzaku was unnecessarily hostile and I also admit I shouldn't have went through the thread removing the posts either to hide the argument.

I will try to avoid going inactive, as I can still contribute in the reverting of vandalism/moving files etc: if I go inactive, it'll be to take a break and focus on another wiki. --Sajuuk 18:11, June 28, 2015 (UTC)
