  • Title: Steaming Danger Tyranny!! (蒸危暴威!!, Jōki Bōi!!)

ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 08:38, October 3, 2011 (UTC)

wow, they're yellowy... idk if we can update the images with those e_e Could you translate what the Konoha sensor says about being able to sense Capt'n Awesome please~.--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 10:29, October 3, 2011 (UTC)

I'm sure an even better scan will show up soon enough.
Any way, Mr Random Sensor #198 says: "Since it's not the mirage genjutsu or anything… He doesn't disappear, which means… I can sense him!!" (「蜃気楼の幻術でもなく…消えたりもしないなら…感知はできる!!」, "Shinkirō no genjutsu demo naku… Kietari mo shinai nara… Kanchi wa dekiru!!") —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 10:37, October 3, 2011 (UTC)
Could you translate what Onoki says about the state of the Mizukage after using the Joki Boi (page 4)? Something about "drunk", or not? Thx! Thunder God Cid (talk) 20:54, October 3, 2011 (UTC)
I hope I'm translating the right part for you: "This technique has the characteristic of making the real body extremely weak while in use!" (「この術を使っとる間本体がすごく弱るのも特徴じゃ!」, "Kono jutsu o tsukattoru aida hontai ga sugoku yowaru no mo tokuchō ja!")

About what the random sensor says, would Shinkirō no genjutsu (蜃気楼の幻術) be a name, or at least a description for the clam's genjutsu? Has some other name- or description-like been used to refer to that technique? And in the second page, what does Ōnoki say about the technique? Does it shed some light on the source of the water and oil? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 21:24, October 3, 2011 (UTC)

I'd say that's a translation more than a name. It was previously being described as simply a mirage (蜃気楼, shinkirō).
Ōnoki describes the Steam Boy as such: "That guy is a clone body using the oil and water from inside the Mizukage's body. Inside the oil that forms the outside, shaped like a child, is nothing but water, however… It has a characteristic make-up, which causes it to easily heat up or cool down, yes… Whenever it is brought into action, it causes a phenomenon where the oil heats up radically, which in turn causes the water inside to radically evaporate… This then becomes a water-vapour explosion. Then…… The hail cools it back down, returning it to its original small form, preparing for the next explosion" (「こいつは水影の体内の油と水を使った分身体じゃぜ。子供の形で表面を象っとる油の中は水だけなんじゃが…特徴として熱しやすく冷めやすい体質でのう…アクションを起こすと表面の油が急激に熱さられて中の水が急激な蒸発現象を起こし…水蒸気爆発になる。で……あられによって冷やされると小さく元へ戻って次の爆発に備える」, "Koitsu wa Mizukage no tainai no abura to mizu o tsukatta bunshintai ja ze. Kodomo no nari de hyōmen o katadottoru abura no naka wa mizu dake nan ja ga… Tokuchō toshite nesshi yasuku same yasui taishitsu de nō… Akushon o okosu to hyōmen no abura ga kyūgeki ni nessararete naka no mizu ga kyūgekina jōhatsu genshō o okoshi… Suijōki bakuhatsu ni naru. De…… Arare ni yotte hiyasareru to chiisaku moto e modotte tsugi no bakuhatsu ni sonaeru")

Could you also please translate what the Mizukage says about his oil on page 8, as with that I believe you've covered every instance where it is mentioned and, if I'm correct, this is the first time the Mizukage himself defines the liquid (although that by itself could have little bearing). Blackstar1 (talk) 22:19, October 3, 2011 (UTC)

The Mizukage says, "As long as I've got this oil, your sand techniques stand no chance" (「この油さえあればあめーの砂の術も役に立たねーぞ」, "Kono abura sae areba omē no suna no jutsu mo yaku ni tatanē zo")
He simply uses the word 'oil' (, abura), which makes me think it might, in fact, be quite similar to what Jiraiya uses. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 22:26, October 3, 2011 (UTC)
Hmmm, that's definitely a possibility but I wouldn't rule out that this may just be a simplification by Kishi, so as both the shinobi and real audience can easily interpret what the Mizukage is referring to. I suspect databook confirmation might be necessary, although, at least there isn't any issue in us describing it as either "oil" or "oil-like" in articles until such a time. Blackstar1 (talk) 22:34, October 3, 2011 (UTC)

Could you also translate what he says on page 8 from the instance where he decides not to help them any more to the first two panels on page 9. As well as what he says after Gaara stops speaking on page 17 please.--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 22:39, October 3, 2011 (UTC)

    "But… Why didn't it explode…?" (「だが…なぜ爆発しなかった…?」)
  • Fifth Kazekage: "The sand, cooled down from the hail I mixed in, was plenty to cool that guy down. Furthermore, the gold is a good heat conductor, which also helped cool down the heated water vapour." (「あられと混ぜ冷えた砂はこいつを冷やすには十分。熱せられた水蒸気を冷やすには熱伝導のいい金がさらに一役かってる」)
  • Second Mizukage: "In the end, you acted as well as one of the current Five Kage should… But… You did well, coming up with this method……" (「最後は現五影らしくよくやった…しかし…よく思いついたなこんなやり方をよ……)

@Naruto no Kyubi We only use official databook stats. Anything else is just speculation. Not to mention, not every stat increases. Skitts (talk) 22:16, October 6, 2011 (UTC)

Translation/Name for theory

We were talking on Omnibender's table page, and it was generally agreed upon that Water+Wind+Yang would become something along the lines of erase, or extinguish (I first suggested the kanji 消, although I'm not exactly sure if there is a better one that fits this context). The origins of the nature generally revolves around Water and Wind both being able to wash away or erase, and/or extinguish. I realized the kanji 消 would fit in fairly well since it carries on both of these aspects, and we also talked about Yin being form and Yang being life/mass/force, and we theorized that in the case of this nature adding too much Yang may cause an imbalance, and the target's Yin will collapse and it will lose manifestation, leaving pure force. Do you have a suggestion on what to call it? Would "Erase Release" make enough sense? --GoDai (talk) 02:45, October 7, 2011 (UTC)

A couple of requests, if you can do its.

Hello ShounenSuki,I see your Icons drawed for Elements and Clans, In fact, almost all of this are used in the spanish Naruto wiki.

That make me ask you for anothers groups of this.

Please, ¿can you draw the Ryu's clan symbol?, and, if it's posible, the identification posters for the Kages buildings?

the first appears in the necklace of Kuroma and Akari from the game Naruto Shippūden: Dragon Blade Chronicles

For the last they're only 3, Konoha(leaf), Suna(sand) and Kumo(cloud) all of they in is respective buildngs.

I can show you the one o Konoha what I make,...but they erase it fromn the spanish wiki 'cause they call a fanart if is'nt appearing here in the inglish... ¬¬ and hate that, cause it limit mi possibilities to make good images without resort to you (who must be too charged for draw works).

Sorry for may bad english, long time without practice this (lol).

if yo need contact to me, can do it here:ón:Saile_aipas

is my talk in that wiki. (I'm chat mod in there).

Again, thanks for read so extended post. --Saile aipas (talk) 19:49, October 10, 2011 (UTC)

This is still unconfirmed, coming from the spoilers and all:

  • Title: Reinforcements Arrive…!! (増援到着…!!, Zōen Tōchaku…!!)
  • Sealing Technique: Tiger Vision Staring Bullet (封印術・虎視眈弾, Fūinjutsu: Koshi Tandan), which comes from the Japanese saying, seeing like a tiger with hostile vigilance (虎視眈々, koshi tantan), which refers to watching vigilantly for an opportunity to prey upon.

All this is from the spoilers and thus subject to change. New techniques are listed in bold.

  • Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation (火遁・豪火滅却, Katon: Gōka Mekkyaku)
  • Water Release: Water Encampment Wall (水遁 水陣壁, Suiton Suijinheki).
  • Ultra-Big Ball Rasengan (超大玉螺旋丸, Chōōdama Rasengan)
  • Earth Release: Moving Earth Core (土遁・地動核, Doton: Chidōkaku)
  • Earth Release: Light-Weight Rock Technique (土遁・軽重岩の術, Doton: Keijūgan no Jutsu)
    • I think it might be better to change the name of Earth Release: Aggravated Rock Technique to 'Earth Release: Added-Weight Rock Technique', to better fit with the new technique's name. Both technique's names use terms related to weighting and averaging numbers and values.

ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 15:21, October 19, 2011 (UTC)

All right, raw's out. So far, most things actually remain the same. The things that are different from above are mentioned below:
  • Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation (火遁・豪火滅却, Katon: Gōka Mekkyaku) should actually be Fire Release: Great Fire Majestic Annihilation (火遁・豪火威却, Katon: Gōka Mekkyaku). The first kanji in the word 'annihilation' (滅却, mekkyaku) has been replaced with the visually similar 威 (authority, majesty), which is normally pronounced as 'i' and is also found in the name of Kamui.

When you have the time, could you translate the bottom right panel in chapter 363, where Suigetsu comments on Manda being summoned. I got the impression he didn't know which snake would be summoned, which would imply that the scroll is linked to a specific snake since it summoned the correct one. Chōjūrō = Sensor?

In chapter 473 page 11, when Mei Terumī talks to Ao about why "he" almost beheaded himself, Chōjūrō makes a comment about finding Ao in time. In the translated version I read he said: "Even with my well honed sensory skills...", so I was wondering if it means that Chōjūrō is a sensor as well? Asuma's anime technique

In Shippūden episode 68, about 11:40, Asuma uses Wind Release: Verdant Mountain's Violent Wind. Earlier this year I changed the kanji we had for that technique to the ones I found in the Japanese Wikipedia: 風遁・翠嵐裂風 to 風遁・水乱烈風. I saw that we have to other canon techniques with 烈風 translated as "gale". I was going to move this technique, but considering the possibility of that not being the only change, and the fact that searching both those forms showed up almost the same amount of results on Google (the current writing with more, but not by much: 100 against 80), I think extra checking is due. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 01:12, October 24, 2011 (UTC)

I am moving the Sora's technique which contains 烈風 though, searching all the variations, the one we currently use is clearly the one most used. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 01:21, October 24, 2011 (UTC)

SWWIII Question

Hey ShounenSuki, I'd appreciate it if you could answer a questions for me regarding the Third Shinobi World War..

I saw on the New Year's Fact Checking forum on here where you explained how the Third Kazekage's disappearance had nothing to do with the Third Shinobi World War.

In it, you also said that the Third Shinobi World War started more than 20 years ago, while the Third Kazekage went missing more than 10 years ago. Was that just an estimate on when the Third Shinobi World War started, or was it stated that somewhere?

Thanks in advance. Ryne 91 (talk) 04:22, October 26, 2011 (UTC)

Hey ShounenSuki. In the Mangastream version of the latest chapter, Madara referred to Onoki and the "ryotenbin brat". Was this term used in the Japanese version and what does it mean?-- (talk) 04:20, October 28, 2011 (UTC)

Ryōtenbin is Ōnoki's nickname, meaning 'both scales' or 'both alternatives'. I cannot say whether it was used in the Japanese version yet, as I do not yet have the raw. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 11:46, October 28, 2011 (UTC)

Terms related to alkali metals

Hi, I've been thinking of a possible, theoretical nature that revolves around properties with alkali metals, especially their high reativity, spontaneous combustion, and reactions with water. I know most of them have names in katakana, but do you know any kanji that may fit the properties, at least? --GoDai (talk) 08:02, October 30, 2011 (UTC)

Oh, I like the alkali one, but how often is it exactly used in Japanese? When you say very uncommon, do you mean more uncommon than the single-kanji term for Mercury that's being used for Omnibender's Mercury nature? --GoDai (talk) 23:05, October 30, 2011 (UTC)
Hmm I see. Well if so, would it be alright to use it as a nature name? If it still exists and carries the meaning, it should be ok, yes? Unless it's super ancient and no Japanese reader would understand. --GoDai (talk) 23:43, October 30, 2011 (UTC)

How would an Alkali Release be pronounced? Kanton? And this term stretches to both alkalinity and alkali metals? --GoDai (talk) 23:14, November 5, 2011 (UTC)

~In your chapter translation section (which is really useful btw) is there any reason for using 'Ultra' as opposed to 'Super" for the techniques that have 'Chō…' in them like Ōnoki's Earth Release: Super Light-Weight Rock Technique?--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 12:28, October 31, 2011 (UTC)

Should the heavy counterpart be changed as well? I'm not sure super added or ultra added have any usage discrepancy in terms of frequency. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 20:32, November 3, 2011 (UTC)
I think it sounds more natural to keep that at 'Super Added Weight Technique', but that's just me. I don't think it really matters with that name. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 23:27, November 4, 2011 (UTC)
Then I'll change it to ultra, just so it looks more consistent with the counterpart technique. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:29, November 4, 2011 (UTC)

What would be the most correct way of using ultra in this case? "Ultra Added-Weight"? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 17:43, November 5, 2011 (UTC)

I think it would be 'Ultra-Added-Weight'. Which looks oddly frail, for such a heavy name… —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 23:32, November 5, 2011 (UTC)

Over on MangaStream, some guy is saying some...odd stuff in the theories forum. Really, I was just wondering if you know or have any, say, translated databook articles that state with certainty that Minato created FTG himself. He's trying to theorize that somehow Minato learned it from the Uzumaki, or possibly from...erm... "kekkaigenkai scrolls"... It's all very nonsensical, but he says there has been nothing stating that he has, though I'm certain there has been. I apologize for any inconveniences. D: Skitts (talk) 21:31, November 7, 2011 (UTC)

It's possible its based off seals he learned from Kushina, but until its not stated in manga or databooks ... just a speculation. Theres no such thing as kekkeigenkai scroll, not to say FTG is not a kekkei genkai. --Elveonora (talk) 22:25, November 7, 2011 (UTC)

-sigh- FTG is not a KG. He taught it to others. Why can no one live with that it is just a Space-Time jutsu...Skitts (talk) 22:34, November 7, 2011 (UTC)

Chapter 563 Stuff

Since I'm currently not able to translate the full chapter in any decent amount of time, here are the most important things:

  • Title: The Five Kage Gathered…!! (五影集結…!!, Gokage Shūketsu…!!)
  • Lava Release: Melting Apparition Technique (溶遁・溶怪の術, Yōton: Yōkai no Jutsu), still written with 溶, once again strengthening the theory that Kishimoto-sensei is doing that on purpose.
    • Also, Madara's reaction to this technique is, "With a technique of this level, even going as far as absorbing it would…" ((この程度の術なら吸い取るまでも…), (Kono teido no jutsu nara suitoru made mo…)). In my opinion, he's praising her technique, rather than belittling it.
  • Lightning Oppression Horizontal Chop (雷虐水平千代舞, Raigyaku Suihei Choppu). 千代舞 would usually be pronounced as 'chiyobu' or 'sendaimai'.
  • Although Madara describes the Raikage's technique as Lightning Release Body Flicker (雷遁の瞬身, Raiton no Shunshin), I don't think he's actually naming it, but really just describing it.
  • the same problem appears a few pages later when Temari describes the Tsuchikage's defence as a Rock Golem (岩のゴーレム, Iwa no Gōremu). I'm not sure if it's a description or a name.
  • Water Release: Hiding in Mist Technique (水遁・霧隠れの術, Suiton: Kirigakure no Jutsu). Personally I don't really think this is a 'correction' of the old, prefix-less name, but rather a clarification, making sure the reader understands it's simple Suiton and not the Mizukage's Futton.
  • Ultra-Added-Weight Rock Technique (超加重岩の術, Chōkajūgan no Jutsu)
  • Next issue, no chapter.

Help with some images

Hi it's me, and I was wondering if you could help me with a few images. I was cleaning up my theory page, and I was wondering if you could update the alternate nature transformation diagram (with the advanced natures inside the circle of basic natures), so that Lightning+Earth=Magnetism, Fire+Lightning=Explosion. I was also wondering if you could create a Pressure Release (Atton) icon for Wind+Earth. I'm thinking of a shockwave/sonicwave sort of nature for Wind+Lightning, possibly with a symbolic name like Thunderclap Release (霹遁 or 靂遁).

And for more of a bigger project, I'm interested in using a diagram that shows which element enhances which in a combination, in accordance to my pattern theory. In a summary,

  • Fire is enhanced by Wind for Scorch.
  • Fire is enhanced by Lightning for Explosion.
  • Wind is enhanced by Lightning for "Thunderclap/Shockwave".
  • Wind is enhanced by Earth for "Pressure".
  • Lightning is enhanced by Earth for Magnetism.
  • Lightning is enhanced by Water for Storm.
  • Earth is enhanced by Water for Wood.
  • Earth is enhanced by Fire for Lava.
  • Water is enhanced by Fire for Boil.
  • Water is enhanced by Wind for Ice.

It's quite crucial for my theory to state which nature enhances which in the simultaneous transformation relationship. For example, in my theory, Storm cannot be made out of water because it's Lightning enhanced by Water, not the other way around. And of course, there's no urgency for me, so please only do this when you have plenty of free time. Thanks! --GoDai (talk) 04:49, November 17, 2011 (UTC)

Haha ok, and again, no rush. I find myself quite busy these days too. And I must say Chapter 564 was extremely satisfying. --GoDai (talk) 05:53, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

Couple of stuff

Could you explain when this chapter was or is going to be released in Japan? I understood it like this: Kishimoto-sama's birthday was on November 8th, so he didn't release a chapter for the following week (the current one, starting with November 14th). The chapter we got to read last week is the one that's going to be released on November 21th in Japan. Is that correct? Also, I need you to confirm the Kanji here and here (use this for validation) and the Kana for the egg pudding-part here, plx :) Seelentau 愛 19:11, November 17, 2011 (UTC)

Is it possible the the translators made a mistake with Mōjōrō? I can hear Mōjōrō when he uses it to make the spikes, but when he uses it after Shino defends Kiba and Hinata, I still hear Aojōrō. Looking at both times he performs it, he uses different hand-seals. At first he uses three seals (for the spikes), and then four seals (when he spits the prison). Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 22:18, November 19, 2011 (UTC)
He uses it multiple times? Could you tell me where? —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 22:30, November 19, 2011 (UTC)
I just copied it from my 和独辞典 ;) Regarding my actual Japanese knowledged, I have recently started with learning Kanji and particle. But it's getting harder now^^ Seelentau 愛 22:33, November 19, 2011 (UTC)

He uses it first at 16:50, with four hand-seals (boar, dog, ram, rat, at first I though there were only three, but that's just the sound effect). In this, I hear Mōjōrō and the spiders launch the silk like a spear and it glows blue just before it hits the trees. The second time is at 17:30, with the same hand-seals. This time, I hear Aojōrō, and Suika himself spits web, which spreads forming the prison net. It also doesn't glow blue the second time. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 22:58, November 19, 2011 (UTC)

They look like two entirely different techniques… The first time, I clearly hear Mōjōrō, yet the second time I cannot hear anything but Aojorō. The name Mōjōrō would fit the second technique better, though. I also cannot really think of any relevant meaning for Aojorō, either. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 16:05, November 27, 2011 (UTC)

But would the previous kanji we had be more accurate? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 21:11, November 19, 2011 (UTC)

I don't think the technique's name actually has something like mountain in it. The only reason we currently list it as "verdant mountain's violent wind" is because that's the translation we got from dattebayo, from when they subbed episodes. The storm of green meaning you said actually lends more credibility to the viz translation, which was "jade hurricane". It was around 11:40 of Shippūden episode 68. Shared field of vision, Itachi and kunai

Could you please translate the top left panel of page 3, Chapter 552, where Kabuto discusses the shared field of vision of the Rinnegan and Itachi's skill with kunai.—This unsigned comment was made by Blackstar1 (talkcontribs) .

Would you mind having a look at the Madara Talk Page...

Heya, I was wondering if you could take a look at my topic in the talk thread of Madara Uchiha:

I'm suggesting that he didn't actually praise Mei's Lava Release, but he did quite the opposite. I included a raw Japanese line of the bit in question too, so I was wondering if you could please give your thoughts on it? Thanks in advance! ^^ --Jingo12 (talk) 16:46, November 20, 2011 (UTC)

Hiding button

I want to ask you, do you know how to make a... code for th "Hide" button? On different wikia we have a large discussion, and we are facing the problem that we have quite a lot of text, and we need to somehow make it all stored inside a "boxes" with the "Hide/Show" option. Do you knwo how to make it? Or someone who knows it here? --VolteMetalic (talk) 10:34, November 22, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, this is what I want. But on that wikia when I try it to use, it is always visible, just the content is in the box, but not hidden. The admin must set something so this works? This is what it makes Link. --VolteMetalic (talk) 18:03, November 27, 2011 (UTC)

Nature Transformation.

ShounenSuki I have seen your various Nature Transformation Icons and I marvel at your exquisite craftsmenship. I thought long and hard and have come up with an idea for a nature transformation. It is Gravity Release, the ability to manipulate the level of Gravity in an area. This could possibly be expanded upon but at the moment my idea is still premature. Could you perhaps attempt to create an icon for a Kekkai Tota Nature Transformation, Gravity?

But what 2 or 3 components would make gravity release? thats my question to you. (talk) 03:47, November 24, 2011 (UTC)

I have thought and I'm not exactly sure. In my eyes it appears as a good idea, but it's composition is however, at the moment, unsure to me. Would it be too much to ask you what you believe it's composition could be?

Would you agree that Gravity is in a way similiar to magnetism? Maybe the components could be the 2 that make up Magnetism Release plus maybe Yin or Yang, or another element.

Gravity Release-Lightning-For the magnetic component of gravity e.g. pull and repel

Earth-To act as the planet, gravity is nothing without the center
Wind-For the destructive power. As it is basically intangible, it is better for this than fire would be.

Moar stuff

Are you listening to Dir en grey, Suki-san? If yes, you probably know their song "The Final". Could you translate this: 未遂の蕾咲かせよう? Chapter 564 Stuff

  • The Man Who isn't Anyone (誰でもない男, Dare demo Nai Otoko)
  • Lava Release: Scorching Stream Rock Technique (熔遁・灼河流岩の術, Yōton: Shakugaryūgan no Jutsu)
    • Here, the kanji with the fire radical is used again.
  • Water Release: Water Mirror Technique (水遁・水鏡の術, Suiton: Mizukagami no Jutsu)
    • 水鏡 is a normal Japanese word referring to a reflective surface of water.
  • Water Release: Bubbles Technique (水遁・泡沫の術, Suiton: Hōmatsu no Jutsu)
    • 泡沫 is written with two kanji that both mean 'bubble'. The word can also be pronounced as 'utakata' and carries the meaning of something ephemeral and transient like a soap bubble.
  • Hiden: Hiding in Scale Powder Technique (秘伝・鱗粉隠れの術, Hiden: Rinpungakure no Jutsu)
    • 鱗粉 is the Japanese word for the powder-like scales of insect, especially of the Lepidoptera order.
  • Tobi's closing words of the chapter: "I will obtain the Eye of the Moon!!" (「月の眼を手に入れる!!」, "Tsuki no Me o te ni ireru!!")
    • It sounds to me as if the Eye of the Moon is something physical he's trying to get his hands on.

What is your take on what Tobi says in the beginning of the chapter about Naruto not slipping through him? Does it imply that his intangibility failed, or that he simply allowed Naruto to land a hit on him to test his new powers? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 02:06, November 27, 2011 (UTC)

Why did you translate 泡沫 as ephemeral? My wadokujiten says that 泡沫 means bubble when read as ほうまつ and ephemeral when read as うたかた... Seelentau 愛 10:15, November 27, 2011 (UTC)
  1. Tobi says, "I may have wanted to slip through that, but… It seems you couldn't even make a single scratch on my mask in the end." (「すり抜けてもよかったが…しょせん面に傷一つも付けられないか」, "Surinukete mo yokatta ga… Shosen men ni kizu hitotsu mo tsukerarenai ka"). His words are quite ambiguous as to whether he let Naruto hit him or simply wasn't able to react in time.He was certainly surprised by Naruto's appearance at the end of 564, but whether he was caught unawares by Naruto's head butt, I cannot say with certainty. Tobi wouldn't simply admit to that, methinks. I don't think his intangibility simply failed, or anything. Tobi would be far more surprised at something like that.
  2. Because it was very late and I wasn't thinking straight and thus used a rather bad dictionary. 泡沫 can mean 'ephemeral' with both pronunciations, but as hōmatsu, it does primarily mean 'bubbles' or 'foam'. I do like the word 'ephemeral', but 'bubbles' or 'foam' would fit better here.

Takigakure and other stuff

What we know about it from manga/databooks ? I mean ... it was shown just in ova, right ? To consider stuff from OVA canon or not ? I mean .. Is Shibiki Takikage or not ? I know mostly fillers/movies/ova are not canon to manga ... but what if this village will show up in manga and it will completely differ from its ova description ?

Are there any other examples of things mentioned in manga/supply material but never shown but expanded upon/explained in anime ? (Anko Cursed Seal etc.) --Elveonora (talk) 14:04, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

I see, and I know there's no Takikage. I meant Shibiki, how some people nicknamed Orochimaru, Otokage (Village leader) The question is if the village will ever show up in manga, how to handle it ? 2 different pages saying Takigakure(OVA/non canon) and Takigakure(manga/canon) ? The same with 1st Tsuchikage.

Also wanted to ask about Anko. We have seen the most likely non canon version of her CS stuff in anime, but according to timeline, when Oro gave her the CS ? Before he left Konoha or after ? Thanks --Elveonora (talk) 21:09, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

Thats exacly what I thought ... she left Konoha with him ... but question!!! Isn't it possible that Orochimaru has used the same technique like Sasori on Kabuto and that he left her on purpose, brainwashed her and sent her back to Konoha to act as his "dormant agent" ? (Lets say she has agreed upon this) Also do you think we might see Anko's Cursed Seal form one day ? Kabuto drains Orochimaru's chakra from her, but should not a forcefully draining of chakra activate the seal like in Sasuke's case at chunin exams ? This is kinda speculation but it would add much more to the relationship between her and Orochimaru ... Anko being evil just brainwashed to think she is a good Konoha Kunoichi :) Honestly I can see Oro doing this. Im not sure, but looks like Anko's feelings for Orochimaru were beyond the bond between a student and teacher. So if she left Konoha with him, she was fully aware she would be treated as a missing-nin. If its true she was with Oro for some time, Sarutobi was sure foolish to welcome her back in Konoha. (Danzo was right about Sarutobi :P)

About Jugo, in anime when he was brought to Orochimaru by Kimimaro, they looked ... 12-13 ? 0_o should not it be mentioned in trivia or anime-manga differences?

But another interesting thing to note is that Oro was nowhere to be seen when the Fox attacked the village. Have they not ran away (Oro and Anko) from Konoha when the Fox attacked ? The timeline might be kinda messed up :(

--Elveonora (talk) 22:16, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

The Suna Jounin were brainwashed as well and no one noticed. The same goes for Kabuto ... no one noticed and Oro undid that. As I said, Hiruzen was foolish. Hiruzen was very foolish ... she has most likely choosen to leave with him, unless she was abducted. I know Orochimaru fought her, yet he has not killed her. Actually It even seemed like Orochimaru still cares for her a bit (at least to me) Well, according to anime she did not remember what happened back then. I'm not saying she is a spy, more like an dormant agent (one day it will trigger and she will reveal all she knows to Orochimaru/Kabuto or enemy ... another thing that supports this is that she is trusted too much, she was too close to Hokage) If she has recieved the curse one year before the start of the series, she is EVEN more suspicious. The brainwashed are not aware they are/were brainwashed. It might have been all the part of their plan. Actually Orochimaru was stupid not to brainwash Naruto, the jinchuuriki or Sasuke in case of betrayal. --Elveonora (talk) 02:03, December 4, 2011 (UTC)

I think the user can choose what they do or do not remember after being brainwashed. He should have erased the details of their plan, and all that left were "memories" of him abducting her. Actually she is the best person to pick up as a spy. Oro was the beloved student of Hiruzen, she was a student of Oro ... you know how sentiment Hiruzen was. Ever heard of trump card ? No reason to use Anko ... he had Kabuto to use genjutsu and Gaara/Shukaku to destroy the village ... he himself being in disguise of Kazekage having the whole Suna on his side.

He undid the technique and also he was the one to learn the secrets of chakra. His goal was to learn all jutsu and become a God :P So a thought he could not use a technique like that is funny. LOL, I know it does not make someone evil. You misunderstood me, Anko was evil herself before being brainwashed.

Also can you reply to the other stuff as well ? Thanks. --Elveonora (talk) 02:43, December 4, 2011 (UTC)

Chapter 565 Stuff

  • Title: Jinchūriki vs. Jinchūriki (人柱力vs人柱力!!, Jinchūriki Bāsasu Jinchūriki!!)
  • Resealed Bijū conversation:
    • B: "They should've had their Bijū extracted, shouldn't they?!" (「奴ら尾獣を抜かれたハズだろ!?」, "Yatsura Bijū o nukareta hazu daro!?")
    • Hachibi: "It seems like they were once again made into jinchūriki after they were resurrected by the Edo Tensei…" ((穢土転生で蘇った後でもう一度人柱力にされたんだろうな…), (Edo Tensei de yomigaetta ato de mō ichido jinchūriki ni sareta 'n darō na…))
"…The Bijū also feel different than they have up till now… Be careful, B!" ((…尾獣達も今までと様子が違うのを感じる……気をつけろビー!), (…Bijū-tachi mo ima made to yōsu ga chigau no o kanjiru… Ki o tsukero Bī!))
      • I still say there's something odd going on with the Bijū. The Hachibi certainly seems to think they were literally released, but even he doesn't seem a hundred per cent certain.
  • Outer Path conversation:
    • Naruto: "That's not gonna work Unca B!" (「それじゃダメだビーのおっちゃん!」, "Sore ja dame da Bī no occhan!")
    • B: "!" (「!」, "!")
    • Naruto: "It's the same as with the Six Paths of Pain I fought before! The sight of their Rinnegan eyes is all connected!" (「前戦ったペインの六道と同ンなじだ!あいつらの眼輪廻眼は全員つながって見えてんだ!」, "Mae, tatakatta Pein no Rikudō to onnaji da! Aitsura no me Rinnegan wa zen'in tsunagatte miete 'n da!")
    • B: "Waddaya mean?" (「どういうことだ?」, "Dō iu koto da?")
    • Naruto: "It's the same Outer Path technique that Nagato used! That's why their six visions are all tied into one…" (「長門と同じ外道の術だ!だから六人分の視覚が一つにつながってて…」, "Nagato to onaji Gedō no jutsu da! Dakara rokuninbun no shikaku ga hitotsu ni tsunagattete…")
      • The way I understand it, the Outer Path is what allows Tobi and Nagato to control the bodies of the Six Paths. Kinda fits the name, too.
  • Mouse Hairball (ねずみ毛玉, Nezumi Kedama)
  • There isn't a single gender-specific pronoun used throughout the chapter, except for the first-person pronoun オレ.

Soooo, would you still say that the Jinchūriki have their Bijū's chakra from before they were removed or do you think that Tobi re-sealed (part of) the Bijū inside of the Jinchūriki? Seelentau 愛 01:51, December 4, 2011 (UTC)

I think both are still viable options, together with the possibility of them tapping into the Bijū's chakra through the chakra rods while the Bijū are still safely inside the statue. What the Hachibi said could have been a simple explanation of the situation for the readers, but it could also be foreshadowing for what's really going on. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 01:57, December 4, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Theory Replies

  • As far as it looks, Kushina and Mikoto were best friends.
  • The events and place were secret ... I'm sure Tobi knows about female host pregnancy being 10 months stuff since he knows everything and Mito was most likely the same case, but no chance he would know the day/hour/minutes :)

Im certain you are aware the he must have watched Kushina for quite some time. It seems he is aware of stuff that happens in Konoha all the time (Spies!) The spy being Zetsu but I think Uchiha as well. My theory is that Tobi told to Fugaku the same crap like to Sasuke about evil Senju. Mikoto told to "Madara" when and where is the pregnancy going to happen. The plan was that "Madara" would get the control of Kyubi, kill the 4th Hokage and then Uchiha would take over the village.

  • The thing that Uchiha were nowhere to be found and Tobi knew the location and time supports this ... it would also add more dramma to the story.

"Naruto want to save Sasuke, but will learn that his parents have died due to Sasuke's parents betrayal" Sasuke already know that his father was head of the whole Uchiha will take over Konoha thing ... but Tobi told him Uchiha were placed as ANBU and police officers to be under direct watch of Hokage, and that their clan was placed in such place to restrict their movement and impact on the village. Sasuke basically think that Senju are/were the bad guys and Uchiha were just fighting to justice. Sasuke says to Naruto that he does not understand what it does feel like to lose a bonds because he was alone from the start ... Naruto want to save him, and Sasuke want to destroy Konoha to avenge the Uchiha and to "restore" their glory and name. By attacking Konoha, its Sasuke's way of destroying the bonds between him and Naruto. (to let him feel what it does feel like to lose the loved ones, but Sasuke does not understand Naruto has lost much more than himself) If Sasuke would learn the truth about evil or to be more precise fooled father, mother the betrayer ... I think there would be no reason for him to destroy Konoha. It would most likely turn him a good guy again or make him even more crazy.

  • Yes, I'm pretty sure Tobi is Izuna. You can question me more as of why and also I would like to hear out your version of this.
  • Itachi mentioned EMS in one sentence, and then a new doujutsu in other.

If he mean by doujutsu a new technique or Rinnegan ... but most likely Rinnegan since the chapter was called the secrets of mangekyou sharingan and "final" secret makes the Rinnegan it seems. I know the statue has it, but its kinda different. Itachi had MS, Madara EMS. Madara's statue: Itachi's: is not seen. The point being the forehead resembles the Rinnegan. It symbolizes the 3rd eye, in Buddhism and Hinduism, the third eye is considered to be the eye of knowledge and symbolises enlightenment ... isn't it kinda like Rinnegan ? --Elveonora (talk) 22:38, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

Hey Shounen-san, i wanted to ask you a question about japanese culture. figureing that you know so much about the japanese language i would figure that you'd know a thing or two about the culture as well. It's about the saying/word/tradition (idk_-_) Itadekimasu, what exactly does it mean and well what is it in general? i hear it all the time on anime, mnga, ect. but i've never yet understood what it is. so if you could leave a message on my talk page about it that'd be very welcomed. if you don't have the time to or just don't want to ect. then that's fine, i just figured since your the only person i know (well heard of) that know's so much a bout japanese, that i would ask you. and i know this ins't bout the naruto series but it's just been buggin me. thanks for your time. (talk) 06:19, December 9, 2011 (UTC)

Itadakimasu (いただきます) is the formal conjugation of the verb itadaku (頂く), a very humble verb meaning 'to receive', 'to eat', and 'to drink', in this case. By saying it before you eat something, you convey thanks and respect to the person who made the food for you. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 08:32, December 9, 2011 (UTC)

Sand siblings' names

Heller~ Could you please translate Kankurō and Temari's name please. Someone claims that Kankurō's name means 'black cat' but that sounds dodgy.--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 03:54, December 12, 2011 (UTC)

excuse me, could you translate Kankuro's name for me, i am trying to prove something, and need the translation to English. please reply as quickly as possable. thank you DarkdragonCano

'Black cat'? Where did that come from?
Any way, Temari means 'hand ball' (手毬, 手鞠). Kankurō's name is a bit more difficult. The meaning of his name isn't all that important, you see. The name comes from Nakamura Kankurō (中村勘九郎), which is a stage name used in a long line of kabuki actors dating back to the early seventeenth century. The latest person to carry this name was Nakamura Kankurō V (五代目中村勘九郎, Godaime Nakamura Kankurō), who changed his stage name to the even more prestigious Nakamura Kanzaburō XVIII (十八代目中村勘三郎, Jūhachidaime Nakamura Kanzaburō) in 2005. If you want to get technical, Kankurō's name would mean something like 'intuitive ninth son'. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 08:15, December 12, 2011 (UTC)
Thank you~--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 13:44, December 12, 2011 (UTC)

Black cat comes from the name Kankuro, i don't know if it sounds, or spells different, but i have had real people from japan say that is what his name means. i have heard Masashi Kishimoto say that, another person to back up my theory is Nagashima-sensei, the japanese teacher at our school. i don't know his real name though. thank you for telling/answering me, and for not being Rude as some others have. i knew what Temari means though, i was only concerned with Kankuro's. when was the 17th century though?—This unsigned comment was made by Darkdragoncano (talkcontribs) .

  1. I could see the 'kurō' part of Kankurō's name being misinterpreted as 'kuro' (, black), but I somewhat fail to see how one could get 'cat' (, neko) out of Kankurō. Unless I'm completely missing something, Kankurō cannot, in any way, mean 'black cat'.
  2. I translated Temari's name because Cerez365 asked for it.
  3. The seventeenth century was four centuries before the twenty-first century. His actual birth date is unknown, but given the birth date of his father, I'd say Nakamura Kankurō I (初代中村勘九郎, Shodai Nakamura Kankurō) was born somewhere in the 1620s–30s.

I wasn't as rude as you say Darkdragoncano. You ignored every warning that you were given is all... Skitts (talk) 00:37, December 13, 2011 (UTC)

  1. Skitts, yes you were.
  2. i don't think of it fanfic. just because Neko means cat, some thing else could means cat also. Kami means Paper, and God. thank you for the 17th centery info. guess i did misspell it. and what does the dash over the o in his name mean? and how can a dash change the meaning. and i was wondering are you the creator of this Wikia? everyone seems to go to you for help. and please only one answer by the person i asked i do not want Skitts or that Cerez guy answering.—This unsigned comment was made by Darkdragoncano (talkcontribs) .
Ok, let's not worry about anyone being rude anymore. Skitt sees you as being rude for not listening and you find him rude for what he did. Anywho, about his name, read this. As for the creator, I'm pretty sure it's Dantman (I'm only reading his profile page). Joshbl56 04:44, December 13, 2011 (UTC)
@Darkdragoncano: The macron (the dash over the o) lengthens the vowel. This basically changes the entire word. It makes the difference between 'here' (ここ, koko), 'finance corporation' (公庫, kōko), 'isolation' (孤高, kokō), and 'filial piety' (孝行, kōkō).
You're right in saying that just because 'neko' means 'cat', that doesn't mean anything else can't mean 'cat' as well. However, 'kan' cannot, in any way, mean 'cat' in Japanese. Even when completely misreading the 'kurō' part of Kankurō's name as 'black', you cannot misread the 'kan' part as 'cat'. Even if you would, it would still be in the wrong order; 'black cat' is kuroneko (黒猫) in Japanese. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 07:51, December 13, 2011 (UTC)

then, if you can't mistake it as cat, what does kan mean? and what would kankuro sound like? darkdragoncano

I already translated Kankurō's name above and the pronunciation would be approximately [kaɴku͍ɽoː]. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 07:40, December 14, 2011 (UTC)

you didn't exactly, but my sister did. darkdragoncano

Chapter 566 Stuff

  • Title: Eyes and Beasts (眼と獣, Me to Kemono)
  • Tailed Beast Eight Twists (尾獣八巻き, Bijū Hachimaki)
    • I believe the last part of this name might be a pun on the word headband (鉢巻, hachimaki).
  • Sealing Technique: Octopus Hold (封印術・億怒端数煩流奴, Fūinjutsu: Okutopasu Hōrudo, Literally meaning: Sealing Technique: Hundred-Million, Angry, Fraction, Trouble-Style Guys)
    • The Hachibi describes this as a "Swastika hold with Ink Clones" (「墨分身で卍固め」, "Sumi Bunshin de manjigatame"). The swastika hold (卍固め, manjigatame) is the Japanese name for the pro-wrestling move called 'octopus hold' in English.
  • Bug Bite (蟲食い, Mushikui)
  • Cat Claw (猫爪, Nekozume)
  • Leech Gap (蛭間, Hiruma)
  • Coral Palm (珊瑚掌, Sangoshō)
    • When written as 珊瑚礁, sangoshō means 'coral reef'.
  • Flower–Fruit Mountain (花果山, Kakazan)
    • The summit of the Mountain of Flowers and Fruits (花果山, Ja: Kakazan, Ch: Huāguǒshān) is the birthplace of Sūn Wùkōng, the main character of the Chinese novel Journey to the West. The mountain is located on a volcanic island. The Yonbi, of course, is based on Sūn Wùkōng and the Dragon Ball series, which in turn is also based on Journey to the West.
    • When written as 火山, kazan means 'volcano'. Then, if you substitute 果 with 火, you get fireworks (花火, hanabi). 果 is also the Japanese for the Phala.
  • Horn Breaking (角折り, Tsunoori)
  • Violent — Leaf Adamantine-Strength Whirlwind (激 木ノ葉金剛力旋風, Geki — Konoha Kongōriki Senpū)
    • 'Adamantine strength' (金剛力, kongōriki) or 'vajra strength' is a step up from 'hard strength' (剛力, gōriki). Both are words used in Japanese to refer to Herculean, superhuman strength.

Could you also please give your interpretation on how Tobi refers to Kakashi and Guy on the last page? If I'm not mistaken he uses "匹", which is a counter for small animals, so I'm wondering what animal you believe would be best suited given the context? Blackstar1 (talk) 17:48, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

Any particular reason for translating "蟲" as "bug", when you usually translate it as "insect"? Does the other kanji in the technique changes the meaning (if in Japanese there is any difference between bug and insect), or was it just a stylistic choice to create an alliteration? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 20:29, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

@Cerez365: Hiruma, when written as 昼間, does mean 'daytime'. I didn't make note of it because I don't really see the pun here. I think it's just coincidence.
@Blackstar1: I would translate 二匹 as 'two critters' or 'two small fry' here. It's just Tobi's way of showing how little he thinks of Kakashi and Guy. It's the same as in the title for chapter 10.
@Omnibender: I only used 'bug' because of the alliteration. I do so love alliteration.

Hashirama Meaning

Could you please look at this as we could use your awesome translations. Joshbl56 08:40, December 17, 2011 (UTC)

Tobirama as well por favor! >_<--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 09:11, December 17, 2011 (UTC)

Hashirama (柱間) is a Japanese word referring to the space between two pillars. However, I think the name was chosen because of the heavy symbolism behind 'pillar' (, hashira), seeing how the Hokage is said to be the pillar holding up Konoha and all that. 柱 is also the counter word for gods and buddhas.
Similarly, Tobirama (扉間) would mean 'the space between two doors'. 'Door' (, tobira) has some very heavy symbolic meaning as well. Doors are seen as the access to progress and improvement. 扉 is also used to refer to title pages, once again tying in with the Hokage title, as a Hokage is as representative for the village as the title page is for a book. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 11:29, December 17, 2011 (UTC)

Hello, ShounenSuki! Can you help me with a japanese question? Well, is very common people write rinnegan with a apostrophe, rin'negan, I know that is not right, but the apostrophe represents something in japanese? Lets take the 深淵, wich in romaji form is shin'en. What "rule" gave the romanization that apostrophe? If the explanation is too extensive, can you send me a article about that or something like this? I hope not take much of you.--Spcmn (talk) 03:05, December 18, 2011 (UTC)

Ultimate Ninja Impact Techniques

Using the links I left at the game's talk page, I looked up on the technique names from it so articles could be made about them. I've made an attempt on translating them, and out of the ones which debuted in the game, I think I managed a good portion of them. Could you proof-read them and take a look on the ones I didn't get? Most of those are from A and B, so dictionaries weren't very helpful, though some of the sites I linked have description of the attacks. For the ones I've seen and remember what they do exactly, I'll put a brief description in case it can provide help seeing a pun or something that might be an influence in the name.

Four-Tails Naruto
Earth Attacking Claw (土襲爪, Doshūsō? Dojūsō? Doshūzume?): This is a tailed beast chakra arm technique, specifically the move Naruto did when putting them through the ground trying to catch Orochimaru.
Absolute Artillery (絶火砲, Zetsu Kahō?): Kinda like a watered down, rapid-fire Tailed Beast Ball.
Roaring Air Cannon/Air Roaring Cannon (気吼砲, Kikōhō?): Tailed Beast Sonic Roar. Might actually be worth renaming, since I think this is the first time a game named this.
Seaweed Full Moon? (玉藻月輪, Tamamo Getsurin?): No idea on what this is, never managed finding a gameplay video showing it. Sites where I got this say this is can only be performed when in mid-air.
Sage Mode Naruto
Ground Dividing (地面割り, Jimenwari): Reminds me of Heavenly Foot of Pain.
Six-Tails Naruto
Hollow Canine Destroying Cannon (虚狗滅砲, Kokumehō): just another name variation of one of the old game names for the Tailed Beast Ball, will probably list it in its trivia section.
Quaking Leg (震脚, Shinkyaku): Kick to the ground with the heel, but no jumping before it.
Righteous Fist Thrust (正拳突き, Seikentsuki): Strong punch.
Initiation/Instruction: Heavenly Foot of Pain (伝授・痛天脚, Denju: Tsūtenkyaku)
Cherry Blossom Violent/Furious Impact (桜花烈衝, Ōkaretsushō)
Flash Brushing? (閃払, Senfutsu?): An upwards punch, kinda like the one Naruto defeated Neji with in the Chūnin Exams, but without coming from underground.
Leaf Hurricane (木ノ葉疾風, Konoha Shippū)
Leaf Windstorm (木ノ葉暴風, Konoha Bōfū)
Leaf Roaring Flame Hurricane (木ノ葉轟炎疾風, Kohoha Gōen Shippū): Fancy flaming kick with lots of spinning.
Leaf Flash Shield? (木ノ葉閃障, Konoha Senshō?): No idea what it looks like. Site with the name says: 砂塵をまきあげて攻撃.
Eight Trigrams Twin Lion Palms (八卦双獅掌, Hakke Sōshishō)
Explosive Kunai (起爆クナイ, Kibaku Kunai): The trick Shikamaru did with kunai and his jacket against Temari in Part I, but with explosive tags attached.
Shadow Sewing Technique: Piercing Shadow (影縫いの術・貫影, Kagenui no Jutsu: Kanei)
Shadow Sewing Technique: Round Shadow (影縫いの術・円影, Kagenui no Jutsu: Enei): There might be a pun here. I've seen both forms in pages, though I'd have to check in gameplay videos to make sure which is the last kanji, if the quality is good enough.
Drop Style Explosive Tag (落式起爆札, Rakushiki Kibaku Fūda): Fancier 起爆クナイ.
Shadow Sewing Technique: Wild (影縫いの術・乱, Kagenui no Jutsu: Ran): AoE technique, shadow version of Certain-Kill Ice Spears, but with all the spikes pointing towards the same point, making a "tent" over Shikamaru.
Leaf Strong Rising Wind (木ノ葉剛力昇風, Konoha Gōriki Shōfū)
Leaf Strong Great Whirlwind (木ノ葉剛力大旋風, Konoha Gōriki Daisenpū)
Youth Slide(r?) (青春スライダー, Seishun Suraidā)
Summoning: Gama Loyalty (口寄せ・ガマ忠, Kuchiyose: Gamachū): Summoning: Food Cart Destroyer Technique-like with Gama.
Great Tree World Method (大樹界法, Taiju Kaihō): The big tree he made to change the direction of Sasuke's Susanoo's arrow.
Wind Release: Vacuum Baku Sphere (風遁・真空獏玉, Fūton: Shinkū Bakudama): Puts Baku behind opponent, uses Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere.
Hurricane Revolving Kick (疾風旋蹴, Shippū Senshū)
Flying Swallow Flash (飛燕閃光, Hien Senkō): Body Flickers through opponents very fast hitting them.
Flash Rasengan (閃光螺旋丸, Senkō Rasengan)
Quicksand Violent Immersion (流砂暴浸/流砂暴侵, Ryūsa Bōshin): The kanji that changes have very similar meanings, I've seen both forms in Japanese sites.
Dust Cloud Sandstorm (風塵砂嵐, Fūjin Sunaarashi)
Shell of Sand (砂の殻, Suna no Kara): The Sphere of Sand page that got redirected to Shield of Sand a while ago, but with a dash of Human Bullet Tank in it.
Rising??? (雷神愚熱覇勝斗, Raijin ???): Appears to be an uppercut. Description in site is "電撃をまとったアッパー".
Lightning Release Pencil (雷遁えんぴつ, Raiton Enpitsu): B's "pencil is mightier" he used against Kisame.
裟真亜剃斗: Description in site is "サマーソルトで打上".
武零駆断擂/武零駆断ス: Description in site is "両手両脚に刀で高速回転".
Lightning Revolving Attack? (雷回転熱斗駆, Raikaiten Atoku/Atōku?): Description is "7本の刀で突進".
Lightning ??? (雷斗忍具襲投, Raitoningu ???): Description in site is "7本の刀を地面にむかってなげる".
Lightning Bolt (雷斗忍具菩流斗, Raitoningu Baruto?): Description from site (7本の刀でふれると発動) matches description from that article and game play videos.
Version 2 Form B
崙虜火音: seems to be a lesser tailed beast sonic roar.
Shadow Clone: Wind Dance (影分身・風舞, Kage Bunshin: Kazamai)
真経津: From what I could tell, this might be something with the Yata Mirror.
Heavenly Paper Reincarnation (天紙転生, Tenshi Tensei)
Confetti (紙吹雪, Kamifubuki)
Distant Returning Paper? (遠返紙, Enhenshi?): Throws three of those paper cranes that are said to grant wishes if you fold a thousand.
Paper Drizzle (紙時雨, Kami Shigure)
Paper Taking Thrust? (紙納突, Kami Noka?): No idea, never saw gameplay of it.
Deva Path
Banshō Ten'in: Ground Motion (万象天引・地動, Banshō Ten'in: Jidō): Takes boulder from the ground.
Imaginary Turned Absorption? (虚吸転身, Kokyū Tenshin?): Never saw footage of it either.
Fire Release: Inflaming World? (火遁・炎殺界, Katon: Ensakkai?): Same as above.
Iron Sand Gathering Assault: Sharp (砂鉄結襲・鋭, Satetsu Kesshū: Surudoi?)
Iron Sand Gathering Assault: Fall/Drop (砂鉄結襲・落, Satetsu Kesshū: Raku?)
Iron Sand Gathering Assault: Destruction (砂鉄結襲・滅, Satetsu Kesshū: Metsu?)
Prepared: Poison Curtain (仕込み・毒幕, Shikomi: Dokumaku)
Flame Bullet (火炎弾, Kaendan)

Assault Rising Blade (強襲昇刃, Kyōshū Shōjin)
Assault Thrusting Blade (強襲突刃, Kyōshū Tsujin)
Exploding Flame Formation (爆炎陣, Bakuenjin): Throws six exploding clay animals around self that explode on hitting either enemy or ground.
Exploding Waterfall Formation (爆滝陣, Bakusōjin?): Same as above, but continuously.
Divine Punishment Ascension (神罰昇天, Shinbatsu Shōten)
Suspicious Turning Scythe Dance? (怪転鎌舞, Kaiten Renbu)
Disordered Scythe Beheading (乱れ鎌斬, Midare Renzan)
??? (毘愚呂, Higuro)
Vertical Flow Eye Protection? (垂流眼守, Suiryū Ganshu)
Wind Release: Mask of the Great Wind (風遁・豪風の面, Fūton: Gōfū no Men)
Fire Release: Mask of the Imprisoning Blaze (火遁・獄炎の面, Katon: Gokuen no Men)
Fire Release: Wind Release: Outer ??? (火遁・風遁・ 外蜃愚々, Katon: Fūton: Geshin Gugu?)
Fire Release: Wind Release: Raging Wave of Blazing Wind (火遁・風遁・炎風の荒波, Katon: Fūton: Enpū no Aranami): Wind vortex tries sucking you in while Kakuzu tries hitting you with a Fire Release from a perimeter.
Chidori Sharp Spear: Lightning Flower (千鳥鋭槍・雷華, Chidori Eisō: Raika): Big swipe of the blade.
Water Release: Waterquake/Water Quaking Pillar (水遁・水震柱, Suiton: Suishinshū?)
Samehada-fused Kisame
Leaping/Flying Swimming Bullet? (飛泳弾, Hieidan?): Makes a blob of water around himself and dashes at others with it. Bounces.
水遁・瀑水牢/爆水牢 (Water Release: Waterfall/Exploding Water Prison): Makes a giant whirlpool around himself. Seen both forms in sites, would need to check on gameplay video to see which kanji is used.

Filler translations

I went through the articles on the recent filler episodes, looking for things that need translation. Here's what I found:

In episode 227, there's the Ultimate Summoning Animal. From the sound, my guess is 究極の口寄せ獣 (Kyūkyoku no Kuchiyosejū). There's also the location where the episode is set, which from the sound, looks like 口寄せの島 (Kuchiyose no Shima). All these terms can be found between 7:30 and 8:40.
In episode 231, there's Mokuzu Island and Devil's Water Trap. The first is supposed to be around 4:00, I can see the name of the island in the subtitle, but I can't hear it. The Mokuzu part is probably the same as it appears in a ramen shop sign around that time as well. I see it in the subtitles around 5:30. All of it might be around 18:25. There's also the point of whether it's Mokuzu or Mozuku. I think I might have seen it both ways in the subtitles.
In episode 239, there's Earth Release: Earth Hold. Is it 土遁・大地岩障 or 土遁・大地断層 at 5:50? There's also Black Spider Lily and Mind Disturbance Dance Performance Technique at 15:00, but Seelentau already got those, so check it just if you want to make sure we got it right. The only thing I'm not sure in those if it's Kuro or Kuroi in Shikaku's technique, and there might be genbu instead of enbu in Inoichi's.
In episode 240, Kakashi's ninken use five techniques: Circular Formation, Crane Wing Formation, Hound Barricade Formation, Ninken Ninja Art: Dance of the Dust Cloud and Ninken Ninja Art: Hound Clone. From the sound of it, I put down kanji for Crane Wing Formation, and the two Ninken Ninja Art. I think there might be an interesting trivia point about Crane Wing Formation, because in looking for kanji for it, I found references to a battle that involved a manoeuvre with that name. Sequences are from 8:00 to 10:40 and 15:30 to 19:00. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 18:20, December 17, 2011 (UTC)

Hi Shounen, I've a question, Is Baji's kanji name which I've posted it in his page true? According to the ending credits, if it's false you can fix it and add it into his infobox... Thanks :) (Shakhmoot (talk) 11:20, December 24, 2011 (UTC))

I've recently decided on another triple combination (earth/lightning/yin), this time Weld Release (接遁, Setsuton? Setton?). However, I see that the name of the nature can be written in three different ways: weld (溶接, 熔接, 鎔接, yōsetsu). Like with Lava Release, I believe that the radical in the first kanji doesn't change things very much, but I'm still interested in any possible differences between them. Hiraishin Jutsu Formula

For the Flying Thunder God Technique (and Flying Thunder God Kunai, of course), the "jutsu formula",[4], also on the kunai, seems to be a set of kanji, beginning with "nin" for patience and ninja. It seems we never got to looking at what the whole thing says. What does it exactly say? Until now I always thought it was meant to be gibberish that looks like sanscrit or something >< --GoDai (talk) 03:33, December 19, 2011 (UTC)

I think the second kanji is kaku 覚, third is fu 符, and the last is zetsu 絶. Nikaku Fuzetsu (忍覚符絶)? Yatanogarasu (Talk) 19:47, February 4, 2012 (UTC)

The first kanji is definitely 忍 and the third does look a lot like 符, but the second doesn't look like 覚 and the last almost certainly isn't 絶. I don't think the kanji are meant to say anything, really, especially in the manga. Kishimoto-sensei almost never uses actual text for seals and such. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 20:40, February 4, 2012 (UTC)

I was Wondering...

I remember a loooonnng time ago you said (if I'm not mistaken) that it was mentioned the Minato had the potential to surpass Hiruzen. I was wondering if you know where that was stated, assuming you remember, as that seems like something that should be mentioned in his abilities section, since it isn't as of now. Ever have any luck with with this? Skitts (talk) 21:43, January 10, 2012 (UTC)

Figurative names

Hi, it's me. I was looking around for ideas for the kekkei tōta theory Earth+Lightning+Yang, and right now I'm thinking it would be interesting if the combination was something like self-replicating molecular nanotechnology; Electrical energies being used to allow inanimate particles (Earth) to imitate (Life), or in other words give them the ability to move on their own. I was mainly thinking of the "grey goo" stereotype, molecular nanotechnology that consumes all matter to self-replicate, aka ecophagy. I'm most interested in a figurative name for such an element, which at the same time, could be quite difficult, I imagine. What would be the very closest figurative name you'd recommend? --GoDai (talk) 04:14, December 23, 2011 (UTC)

Hey Suki, is this translation correct?

かごめかごめ 籠の中の鳥は いついつ出やる? 夜明けの晩に 鶴と亀が滑った 後ろの正面だあれ?

Kagome Kagome Kago no naka no Tori wa Itsu Itsu deyaru? Yoake no ban ni Tsuru to Kame ga subetta. Ushiro no shoumen dare?

Kagome, Kagome, the bird in the cage, when will you come out? In the evening of the dawn, the crane and turtle slipped. Who stands right behind you now?

White Flash 05:56, December 25, 2011 (UTC)

Chapter 568 Stuff

  • The Four-Tails: King of the Sage Monkeys (四尾・仙猿の王, Yonbi: Sen'en no Ō)
  • Guy says about the Rokubi's gas, "The trees instantly wither! …Corrosive gas?!" (「木が一気に枯れた!…腐らせるガスか!?」, "Ki ga ikki ni kareta! …Kuzaraseru gasu ka!?")
  • Lightning Transmission (雷伝, Raiden)
    • Raiden, when written as 雷電, means 'thunder and lightning' and as such — with the 'sama' suffix — is an alternate name for the Japanese god of thunder, Raijin. When written as 雷電, it is also the name of a famous video game series.
  • Morning Peacock (朝孔雀, Asa Kujaku).
  • The Yonbi introduces himself as, "I am the Handsome Monkey King of the Water Screen Cave; the King of the Sage Monkeys, bestowed with the Dharma name of Son by the Sage of the Six Paths. I am Son Gokū, the Great Sage Equalling Heaven hoohoohooooo!!" (「オレは水簾洞の美猿王 六道仙人より孫の法号を与えられし仙猿の王。孫悟空斉天大聖だウキキィーーー!!」, "Ore wa Suirendō no Bien'ō, Rikudō Sennin yori Son no hōgō o ataerareshi Sen'en no Ō. Son Gokū Seiten Taisei da ukikī~~~!!")
    • Handsome Monkey King (美猿王, Bien'ō) and Great Sage Equalling Heaven (斉天大聖, Seiten Taisei) are both titles Son Gokū from the Journey to the West bears.
    • The Water Screen Cave (水簾洞, Suirendō) is the cave where Son Gokū was born on the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit (花果山, Kakazan).
    • A Dharma name (法号, hōgō) can be one of two things. It can be the name given to a newly ordained Buddhist monk or nun, or it can be the posthumous name given to deceased people according to the Buddhist faith.
  • The Kyūbi's name is Kurama (九喇嘛, Kurama), which literally means "Nine Lama" and is obviously a reference to Kurama from Yū Yū Hakusho.

Sorry to bother you with this yet again my friend. But I'm curious on what Kishimoto actually wrote in 568. Particularly what the Four-Tails said about his name and what appears to be his entire title.--TheUltimate3 ~Keeper of Lore~ 14:08, December 26, 2011 (UTC)

Also if I put Kurama's japanese name right. --Ilnarutoanime -NejiLoverr- 14:10, December 26, 2011 (UTC)

And the age-old request of looking for info pointing towards gender.--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 15:22, December 26, 2011 (UTC)

I'm with TheUltimate3. I don't trust the translation we have. The translator has a rather bad record and what he did in this chapter in some cases doesn't sound like proper english. I would be much obliged if after you've read the raw you could post the bits and pieces which are misleading in the current version. (talk) 01:37, December 27, 2011 (UTC)

Could you also please translate what Guy says about the corrosive/rotting gas, "...腐らせるガスか!?" Blackstar1 (talk) 17:33, December 28, 2011 (UTC)

So... Can "monkey" in this sense be translated as "ape"? Also 'Connexion' with an x O.o?--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 22:58, December 28, 2011 (UTC)

That's an old way of spelling the word. Isn't that an out-dated way of spelling it, even in UK English? Isn't "connection" more commonly used even in UK English? Also, does the title of King means that Son Gokū is confirmed as a male character? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:01, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
I've never seen that spelling before thought it was Spanish but it doesn't fit Kakashi's style. xD Where I'm from we use English UK and I've never seen it like that though. Also look for gender stuff for the other beasts please~.--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 23:08, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
It's somewhat uncommon nowadays but certainly not outdated or archaic. I used it because I like the look of it and… that's about it. I like the x. It's a Nobody now.
And yes, 猿 can be translated as both 'monkey' and 'ape', but I feel that 'monkey' is more fitting here. Son has a tail, after all. Four even. And no, the use of 'king' doesn't imply gender. 王 is basically genderless, despite the existence of 女王. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 23:09, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
The only gender indications are the use of masculine first-person and second-person pronouns by the Bijū. Still, that could also mean they're genderless. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 23:11, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
My only concern with the x spelling is having to deal with people changing it to "connection" every time they see it. We already endure the regular changes to US spelling, but seeing that this jumps more to the eye than the standard UK spelling, it seems a bit like asking people to edit and change the spelling. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:36, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
Firstly, Lmfao! But I have to agree with Omnibender, people'll probably think it's an error even more so than the UK spelling and we won't really have anything (forlackofabetterword) substantial to rebuff them with.--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 23:44, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
  • pats x* Poor you, such a misunderstood and ignored letter…
Fine, fine, use the ugly spelling. I see enough x's in Katekyō Hitman Reborn and Kingdom Hearts, any way. At least Amano-sensei and Nomura-sensei still appreciate the beauty that is the x. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 23:59, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
By Talos keep it with the X. I want to see how many people keep it as connextion and think it's some awesome new word.--TheUltimate3 ~Keeper of Lore~ 00:12, December 29, 2011 (UTC)
Like I said, I don't mind the fact it's written like that, what I mind is having to deal with people changing it, and having to change it back ad nauseum. Maybe uncommented warnings like we had for irises/irides situation will work? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 00:16, December 29, 2011 (UTC)

I don't want to doubt you, but my wadokujiten says that 伝 means 'life' or 'biography' when read as でん and not 'connexion'. Seelentau 愛 01:50, December 29, 2011 (UTC)

I would say it takes on the meaning of 'passing down' more than 'life' itself. Still, the basic meaning remains the same. A biography (自伝, jiden) or legend (伝説, densetsu) is nothing more than a connexion or transmission between two people, or the past and the present. That's what this kanji signifies and 'connexion' seems to be the best translation in this case, at least to me. Besides, 'den' is simply the on'yomi, so it's only natural to use it in compound nouns. Perhaps 'Lightning Transmission' might be a better translation, though… —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 02:27, December 29, 2011 (UTC)
ah, I see. And why's the 水 in your translation of 水簾洞 missing? Also, maybe I trust it a bit too much, but my wadokujiten says 簾 can be read as す or すだれ, but not れん... Seelentau 愛 17:18, December 29, 2011 (UTC)
I accidentally typed 'bamboo' instead of 'water'. I fixed that now. Also, both す and すだれ are the kun'yomi for 簾; れん is the on'yomi. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 17:27, December 29, 2011 (UTC)
But isn't now the 'bamboo'-part of 簾 missing? Seelentau 愛 17:48, December 29, 2011 (UTC)
The 'bamboo' part isn't important, nor is it inherent to the kanji. The kanji simply refers to a specific kind of curtain or screen that, coincidentally, is usually made of bamboo. It can also be made of other materials, though. The bamboo nature of the screens is made even more immaterial when you consider the Chinese origins of the name, as the kanji refers to any and all sorts of curtains and screens in Chinese. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 18:34, December 29, 2011 (UTC)
Are you going to follow with the "transmission" translation or will we keep the "connexion" one? Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 20:18, December 31, 2011 (UTC)

Transmission does fit better, I'd say. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 18:17, January 1, 2012 (UTC)

Not too sure if I have to do this, but it may possibly be overlooked idk. I think we have enough "proof"? now that the symbol behind Kushina and Mito is the Uzumaki clan's emblem. It was also in Mito's bedroom back in chapter 500. (Not too sure how to put this part) I would however ask that you'd make it on a white background? I think it'd be easier to see or something.--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 14:26, December 26, 2011 (UTC)

Colour's fine. But I was thinking it might be easier to see the little (triangles)? in the clan symbol better if it were white O.o?--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 14:52, December 29, 2011 (UTC)

#buh! I like it. I thought it was wrong at first but the I realised that's what the one over Mito's bed looked like. Although… why'd you make the outer circle white O.o --Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 16:57, December 29, 2011 (UTC)

Naw it's fine. I was just wondering is all. Far be it from me to stop your creativity from running free. I wanted to make witty comment about the word "connexion" but I have failed horribly. =\--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 17:17, December 29, 2011 (UTC)

Hey Shounen (Suki?). I know you don't know me, and I hope you're not bothered by this, but I recently sort of "adopted" a dead wiki and having trouble with the japanese and all, since I'm not a native speaker. Question is, could you provide an accurate translation for "三日月宗近"? I know the first word in it means "crescent/new moon", but I can't find anything decent for the last two kanji. Like I said, I hope this doesn't bother you :P

PS: Nice to see another dutch-speaker on the wiki! Ge zijt tot nu toe slechts de tweede die ik op alle wikis waar ik ooit ben geweest heb gezien! Alhoewel ik wel een trotse belg ben :P Kai no kimi - Talk 20:23, December 30, 2011 (UTC)
