Yomotsu Hirasaka is a kekkei mōra technique used by Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, and is said to be the progenitor of all space–time ninjutsu.[1]

Overview

Kaguya is able to open rifts within the fabric of space which allows her to instantaneously transport herself anywhere between her six dimensions. The openings can be used to connect two different spatial locations within the same dimension, or create a pathway that links two dimensions together. Similar to Kamui, Yomotsu Hirasaka allows Kaguya to utilise these spacial tears to retreat, disorient enemies, ambush attacks, among many other possible tactics.

These portals can be used to transport only sections of Kaguya by partially entering them, and she can utilise this method to drag her opponents to another location. The speed of this is such that even a shinobi as fast as Sasuke Uchiha is caught off-guard.[2] However, evading the portals is still possible.[3]

Trivia

  • The technique is named after the slope that leads to the underworld in Japanese mythology.
  • In the anime, this was the first jutsu used in existence.[4]
  • Obito Uchiha was able to synchronise his Kamui technique with the Yomotsu Hirasaka to create openings of his own.[5]
  • Black Zetsu gained access to this technique while he was residing inside Kaguya's severed arm sleeve, opening portals by channelling himself to the arm.[6]
